Overnight in Pisa Maritima
We stayed here overnight on our way to southern Italy. The hotel was excellent, staff were exceptional. Very dog friendly we were on 7th floor with a seaview which was an added bonus. The hotel layout was good swimming pool and patio were nicely laid out. The area of Pisa maritime was very disappointing all lidos couldn't even see the sea from the road. If we were going to Pisa town itself or surrounding area would stay again but would not recommend the area for beach-type holidays. As we could not take dog into breakfast room we took breakfast upstairs which was nice. Breakfast itself was ok usual meat, rolls, cakes and coffee.

The hotel is not a modern one. Rooms are huge and toilet is gigantic. Decent buffet breakfast. The tennis court facility is there but you have to pay for it. I hope they can make it free for people who have their own racquets and balls

We would certainly go back to The Grand Hotel Golf
Grand Hotel Golf is situated in a good location for the beach, local transport,restaurants, shops etc. All staff at the hotel were helpful to us with our travel plans. Our room was clean and spacious but was very jaded, stains on the walls and the bathroom needed refurbishment. The reception and dining room was in much better order, plenty of choice for breakfast and lots of it. The local area has lovely beaches, plenty of shops and restaurants and a very good bus service. We enjoyed our stay at The Grand Hotel Golf and would certainly stay there again.

Comfortable hotel with a great view
It was a pity that there was nowhere to sit outside, as it was not in season, but the sun shone on the balcony in the afternoon so we got some outside time. The lady at the counter was extremely helpful with travel information as we travelled up and down to Florence on a couple of days. The room was beautiful and comfortable.

Grand Hotel Golf, Pisa
It was a nice experience in general. We were happy with the facilities and the services, including the breakfast, the room, the WIFI, the security, the stuff in particular. The only downside was the mosquitos’ invasion, which my wife was suffered a lot.

stayed here for 5 nights all went well, shower head broke in our bathroom but was replaced before we returned the same day, like other people said the hotel was dated but lovely and clean, our room was cleaned daily

Nice hotel, great location.
A very nice hotel, clean and comfortable. No wifi in rooms or international tv channels so facilities not the best. Beautiful views of the sea (extra cost). Excellent location, short walk to a nice town and beautiful beaches. Also near to bus service to Pisa. Locals not great at English so be prepared to try some Italian.

Definitely not 4* hotel
It was worn down, needed updating. Needed more facilities for it to be valid as a 4* hotel. Although was clean and comfortable, king bed was disappointing, was two singles pushed together. Great location for the beach but require a car if you wang to go into pisa or surrounding areas.

Very bad condition. No wifi in room and bad signal in lobby. Breakfast was the same everyday for 5 days and it was not good.

The hotel is near the beach, 5 mins walk, near bus routes, breakfast is great, pool is fantastic, staff are helpful and speak english, room was clean but could do with a bit of painting. Overall pleasant stay.

Nice hotel near golf coarse and close to beach
Hotel was a little dated, but had amazing views with a very large room and balcony. The breakfast was very nice and substantial. It was a great surprise for a last minute booking. Would definitely stay again.

Good hotel with friendly staff.
Saved my bacon after another hotel bailed out (Boboa hotel). Hotels.com corrected the issue and set me up. Liked it enough to stay 2 nights. Can walk to the beach and restaurants. Staff helped me with travel information

Good option for overnight stay
We needed a place close to Pisa for an overnight stay on our way between Venice and Rome. Found this on hotels.com with a great price the day-of. We were there off-season, but this is located near a beach community with lots of other hotels and restaurants. Hotel was somewhat dated, but felt like it had served as a high end hotel earlier in its life (for example big rooms and wood floors everywhere). There was a great breakfast buffet that was included in the price.

Room and bathroom was large and extremely clean. Staff is friendly. Wonderful breakfast buffet. Leaning Tower is close by. Also, stop by Gulliver for lunch. Price is reasonable and food is great.

Pisa short city break
Hotel in general, was pleasant and very clean. Room was clean and spacious, with balcony overlooking the sea. Continental breakfast was adequate. Close to the airport, 15-20 minutes by car. About 30 minutes to Pisa for sightseeing or the railway station. (parking no problem) Spent one day sightseeing in Florence. Travelled by train, trip take about an hour. Walk to the beach is about 10 minutes. Walk to some good food restaurants is about 5 minutes. Golf course, which I did not play, is also very close by. (just over the road) All in all, a pleasant three night stay.

Stay somewhere else.
Avoid this hotel, it is old and hasn't been updated in at least 30 years and it shows. I don't understand how this hotel gets more than a 1 star rating. The hot water was brown when I went to take a shower, even after letting it run for sometime.

Hotel rooms a little dated but for the price it was great! Lovely pool area, huge rooms and bathrooms and great location. If your looking for somewhere cheap to have a relaxing break, this is the place. Regular and cheap buses also make it a good base for sight seeing Pisa.

the grand golf hotel pisa, Italy.
very relaxing stay, quiet and friendly staff. pretty country surroundings. not many shops around so more time for the beach and walking. spacious bedroom, dining room, lounge and pool. nice relaxed atmosphere about the hotel. need a bike to reach the food shops or a car we walked to the village about half a mile and enjoyed the country lanes that we would have missed by car.

We stayed for 2 days for a beach holidays. The location was not very good for this purpose as there were other hotels closer to the beach (but I'm not sure about their cost). Apart from this - the hotel is quite nice but needs some repair.

Hotel looking a little tired for a 4 star but staff very helpfull,pool area very good but not sure it would be ok if very busy. Appartment ok but limited cooking facilities would have been nice to have a toaster, kettle and iron, was pleased I took my own kettle. happy overall as it was near enough to the beach.

Excellent for the price.
The hotel has aged gracefully enough. When I was a teenager, it was a very high class hotel, many film stars stayed there, Sophia Loren, Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor etc. I met Fred Astaire and Richard Crenna there, I went to Livorno American High School nearby at Camp Darby, and the Grand Hotel Golf was the venue of our Junior Prom and the two actors were staying there while shooting a movie at the nearby studios. While it no longer has the splendor it once had, it is very comfortable and you would be hard pressed to find any hotel in the area with a better price/performance.

Most enjoyable - arrived a couple of hours before check in - and room was ready and allowed to move in. Free computer in hotel reception. Staff most helpful - good choice on breakfast. Overall although in some respects a little dated - a good choice at the right price

The room, bed, bathroom and balcony was huge! There was amazing views from the balcony too. However, there was a lot of red ants and tiny spider like insects all over the balcony. It was infested. There was a lot of ants in the room as well. The hotel is a little dilapidated and in need of a little TLC but overall it was nice enough specially for the price.

I think all the previous reviews made by guests are justified. The hotel is very dated and in dire need of a make over but it has a good pool area, it is near the beach, has a tennis court, table tennis and the staff are friendly. It is very accessible from/to Pisa/Florence via the local bus which runs on time and very frequently. We went to lay in the sun for four days and that is what we did after sightseeing. Please read the comments about breakfast as they are correct - dont try the coffee!!! It is probably not what you would expect to find in the UK but it is not in the UK!!!!

Great finish to our trip
We finished our trip through Italy with four days of relaxation at this hotel near Pisa. We were very happy with the spacious room, the view and the services. My son loved the pool and the nearby hotel beach was excellent and quieter than the adjacent crowded beaches. The beach was also affordable at the 3-day price of 30 euros for chairs and the umbrella. The hotel is just 3-4 minutes walk from the center of the area's social life, but being off the main drag and adjacent to the golf course, it offers a quiet atmosphere. We enjoyed it a lot.

The Golf Hotel in Tirrena
A great hotel, with a great staff in a hotel that is showing it's age a bit. We enjoyed our stay and returning to revisit Tirrenia. The room was spotless, and it had a great view. We didn't take advantage of the pool, but it looked quite inviting. The only suggestions that I would make it that the AC is a bit anemic, and the rooms are getting to the point where a re-do is necessary. We had loose tiles in the bath, and the room would have welcomed a fresh coat of paint. I will definitely return, and hope to see some investment in infrastructure.

Great hotel, great location
The pictures online don't do this hotel much justice..this hotel was fantastic. Better than any European hotel I have been in yet. The rooms are spacious and in particular the bath. Better beds than the others we have stayed in. Breakfast was very good, typical European flair. Extremely clean, well maintained and just a very short walk to the main square in Tirrenia.
