And if you’re craving a taste of small-town charm, Weaverville’s quaint downtown is just a short drive away, with a few great restaurants that give you a warm, welcoming vibe.Although Douglass Falls Hiking area is still closed, we discovered the Straight Creek trail nearby, which was an easy-to-moderate in-and-out route that featured its own little waterfall.The area still has some lovely signs of Helene's presence. We appreciated how much this retreat offered a balance between seclusion and proximity to both nature and nearby town life. Would definitely recommend it for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle and recharge in a peaceful woodland."

"I like out of the way places, and this certainly is. If you don't like being 20 minutes away from a town center, then this may not be for you. The surroundings are beautiful and serene. There is a zipline company across the street, and we could hear occasional joyful screaming. The house is very clean and modern. The kitchen has every utensil you can imagine. The only things I missed having were some lidded containers for leftovers, so I just used a pot with a lid. The gas fireplace is beautiful, but be aware that it quickly gets much hotter upstairs than downstairs, and you don't realize it until you go up. The showers are very large, modern and clean. There are no ensuites, but the bathrooms are right across from the bedrooms. The master bedroom is downstairs. All the beds are very comfortable - on the firm side.My only complaint was that grill grates were pretty dirty. Response time and helpfulness from the host was excellent. We met Steve, the owner, and had a great and informative chat. Thanks Steve!The Stoney Knob Cafe in Weaverville is excellent."

"Very comfortable, nicely decorated, the kitchen was more than sufficient for our needs, situated next to a creek that was great to relax next to. Check was very easy. Highly recommend and will make reservations again. Driving up the road to the cottage we saw deer, lots of turkeys, and a black bear."
