  • Glass Beach is a beach in MacKerricher State Park near Fort Bragg, California, that is abundant in sea glass created from years of dumping garbage into an area of coastline near the northern part of the town. Once upon a time the sand was coated in brightly colored bits of sea glass, and social media is full of photos that make it look as if the sand still looks that way, but that isn't the case. Over the years the public has raided the beach of much of its glass. Now at first look, some might say it looks like any other ordinary beach. Yes you can still find glass here, but you have to look for it, and most of colored glass is long gone. It all makes for a fun little treasure hunt however! Great location! Very quiet and cute spot in the Redwoods! The pub was a great spot for a bite. We had the a Barbecue Burger and the Chichen Phil-thy - both were yummy! We would stay again!

Staff at the desk was down to earth, helpful, knowledgable. Great amenities on site, from a camp store to two playgrounds, to a pool for warmer months. Room was beautiful, spacious and well-lit. Bed was super comfy! The reasons I am not giving five stars: a few things were quirky or didn't work right--bathroom floor was slanted at a strange angle that made me feel off balance and induced vertigo a few times, door was hard to lock/unlock due to lock being very close to door frame, there didn't seem to be any enforcement of quiet hours (I had loud drunk people above or to the side of me both nights), only two buttons on the t.v. remote worked, so I was never able to watch anything, and for better or worse, the river was not as accessible as it looks in the photos. I would totally come again, but I would probably ask for a quieter room assignment and check that everything worked okay while the front desk folks were still available.

It was a neat experience, being in a log cabin, in the woods. Our daughter really wanted to visit Confusion Hill, which is across the street. Super convenient. The little pub on site has a very family run, old English pub vibe. We enjoyed a meal, and looking at all the photos & decor. It was a great stay.

Not what was expected.

We were excited to stay at the Redwoods River Resort. We found our room to be not exactly what was shown in the photos during booking. Our bathroom floor was sticky and the shower was old and rusty. Harrison’s pub was really good, the food was tasty.

We had an awesome stay at Redwoods River Resort! The location couldn’t be better nestled right near the Avenue of the Giants with beautiful river access just steps away. We were stoked to find the pub open and spent a relaxing evening with cold beers and a few games of shuffleboard. Our room was super clean and cozy, with a convenient kitchenette that made cooking easy. We also learned about all the fun events and yearly competitions the resort hosts now we’re already planning a return trip so we can experience one of them firsthand!

We had a great time at Redwood River Resort. Everyone was so nice and friendly and the Deer Haven cabin was a delightful place to stay - cozy and comfortable with fun rustic decor and a big comfortable bed. The heater worked great. The food at Harrison's was very enjoyable also. We will stay here again!

It’s was like camping but you’re own cabin. Nice hot showers. And wow the water pressure was amazing. Staff super friendly and helpful. This was our 35th Anniversary trip we had so much fun. Can’t wait to go back

Redwood stay.

Great little place with no frills but lots of fun. The food at the bar was well bar food, but there are little kitchens in the units, so bring your own food. Access to the Eel River was fantastic. Assume for families with children.

We had the best time and we’re sad to leave. Two toddlers, two adults and a 9 year old. Having our own fire pit and front area was a huge plus. I was amazed and how clean our cabin was. The playgrounds and pool were a nice bonus! The pub was fantastic ate there twice. Can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful lodge in a lively camping site. Very friendly and helpful staff. Their restaurant was beautifully lighted up with music and great foods. Our only complaint was that the room didn’t have AC. We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely stay here again when in the area. Thank you!
