Loved our Stay

Our family had a great time staying at Modern GEM. The quiet neighborhood felt very safe and everything we needed was nearby. The location provided the perfect jumping off point for several day trips and activities. It was also nice to be able to come home and enjoy the pool and covered patio as a family. We will definitely plan to stay here again.

Great location - easy access to the city, hiking etc. home is restored and lovely. Very clean and well taken care of. Any communication was replied to instantly. No problems at all and would stay here again. Thanks for a lovely stay

Modern Gem is AWESOME!

Such a beautiful home away from home. Didn't want to leave! Lovely decor, sparkling clean. Bed sooo comfy. Kitchen has all the mod cons.

Our stay was fantastic! The house was everything we needed and more! We enjoyed so much time outside in the pool! The house was very clean and the beds were comfortable! The location was great and the neighborhood was quiet and safe! Kelly was amazing to work with. She even went above and beyond and provided a cooler for us! We would love to stay here again in the future!

Highly recommend!!

This VRBO was one of the nicest, cleanest houses I’ve rented! We loved it and it was perfect for my family of 4 and 2 other adults. Too cold to use the pool but it looked awesome. Fresh flowers on the island, snack basket and new bag of coffee waiting. Beds were very comfortable which is always a plus. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect spot for a Tempe stay!

Already talking about when we should come back. The house was clean and that’s my biggest issue with VRBOs. Bed was super comfy - haven’t had that great of sleep in a while. And house was well stocked with everything you could need and then some. 10/10 would recommend.

Simple But Elegant

The property was exactly what my family need for our 3 night stay in the Tempe area. It was simple with an open floor plan that allowed our family to spend time together and also had all the amenities that we needed. The property manager, Kelly, was easy to work with and very responsive!

Great house, perfect for families

We loved our stay here! The property was beautiful and clean and set up perfectly for us and our two little kids. The backyard had lots of great activities - pool, cornhole, firepit, plenty of seating - and the location was convenient. Kelly was so easy to communicate with and accommodating. House was well stocked with kitchen supplies, plenty of towels, and even fresh flowers.

We came to visit family and celebrate my husbands milestone bday! Great house g quiet neighborhood ! We barbecued and sat outside on the patio! It was great time! The host was very responsive and gave us a welcome package/ HBD balloon and a plant! Thank you!

Just a wonderful property. Has recently been completely renovated, so is really nice. Wonderful quiet neighborhood. Host Kelly responds quickly. She even threw in some unexpected surprises which were very nice touches. This will be our go-to place whenever visiting Tempe to see family. Thanks!

Home away from home

We enjoyed so many thoughtful aspects of our stay: just to name a few: the cleanliness of the home, the comfortable bed (we only used one bedroom), the necessary coffee and tea supplies, the welcome snacks, the high-end kitchen equipment, the updated, nicely-appointed spaces, the safe neighborhood, the proximity to our fav grocery stores and wonderful restaurants. We were so grateful for the owner’s upkeep of this home, making it a cozy home away from home for us:). Thank you Kelly! We will return:)

Perfect Stay

We very much enjoyed our stay at this property. It was very conveniently located to South Tempe and would also be great for a family visit to ASU. The neighborhood is conveniently located by many restaurants and stores like Trader Joe’s.We discovered a local coffee place we loved, Steve’s Espresso! We were quite comfortable, and the kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed. The pool also was well maintained and inviting, although we didn’t get a chance to use it. Maybe next time. We hope to be back! Kelly the owner was also very reachable and welcoming during our stay. Thanks for a great visit.

Great Tempe Find!

Kelly's Modern Gem worked well for our needs during Fiesta Bowl weekend! Kelly was very communicative, even checking in to make sure all was going well during our stay. We were in town because my older son was playing in the Bowl game as well as moving my younger son back to campus at GCU. We were a bit away from campus and the stadium, but we were able to navigate the areas well for most activities we planned to visit. Definitely something to consider if you plan to spend any length of time at either of those places though. The home was lovely, with two generous living areas, spacious bedrooms, along with a beautifully appointed kitchen. The cookware was ideal, making meal prep pretty seamless. Having everything on one level worked well for my seasoned parents. Although we didn't spend any time in the yard, it looked very inviting, and I liked the pool being fenced off from the rest of the yard. This is a place I would certainly consider staying again when I'm in town. Thanks so much for your hospitality Kelly! It was great connecting with a fellow Midwest native.

Exceptional Vacation Rental!

This was an EXCEPTIONAL vacation rental! The house was clean, comfortable, and well stocked with everything you need to feel at home. The updated kitchen is lovely and was a pleasure to cook in. The beds were comfortable to sleep in with plenty of pillows and extra blankets if needed. The primary shower is beautiful, large, has good water pressure, and an amazing adjustable shower head. The living areas are open to the kitchen which is nice for family interactions. The operating instructions for the house are clear and easily accessible in the “welcome book”. The neighborhood is clean, quiet, and conveniently located with easy access to the 101. The pool was relaxing and well-lit for evening swims. There is a lovely patio and fire pit that would be a wonderful place to relax (Maybe not in late July – As the HEAT really is EXTRA! 😊) I can’t say enough wonderful things about our host, Kelly! She was easily accessible by phone, quickly responded to questions before and during our stay, and was very accommodating. Our experience was an overall delight and we look forward to coming back over the next four years to visit our daughter (ASU student!)

Best vacation rental-Close to ASU!

This by far was the best vacation rental I’ve stayed at. Kelly, the owner really goes the extra mile to accommodate you. We traveled for my daughters graduation from ASU and when we arrived, she had fresh flowers and a graduation card and balloon for my daughter! As well as a bottle of wine. The place was extremely clean which I appreciate. Linens were nice and fresh! The master bed was extremely comfortable. I never say that. (I normally sleep horrible away from home-but this bed was lovely) She has everything you would need. Perfectly equipped kitchen. Lots of extra towels, pillows and blankets. Bathrooms had plenty of TP, towels, hairdryer, q tips, shampoo, conditioner, body wash. Even offered to stop at the store for me if needed. I couldn’t be more thankful. The pool was clean and nice, gated as well! Lots of pool floats etc..We brought our small dog who also enjoyed all the home’s amenities as well as lounging on the covered patio. I would absolutely stay here again, and this home recommend to others. About 10 minute drive to ASU! Great location.

Great home base in a good location

This was a very clean property that had everything we needed. Stylishly decorated and the beds/rooms were very comfortable. We enjoyed the patio on Sunday evening, sat around the firepit and played cornhole. One of the top 5 vacation rentals I have stayed in over the years (we do 3-4 a year) just for how well it was put together. Communication w Kelly was great, I would recommend to family and friends. It was a very enjoyable stay during our couple of days in Phoenix.

ASU softball

We came to watch our granddaughter play softball for ASU. The house was located within 15 minutes of the campus. It was very clean and well stocked (towels, bedding, dishes, etc.) We enjoyed relaxing in the lovely backyard. . We would definitely stay there again.
