The hotel had everything we needed for our stay and staff were always pleasing, happy and polite. Our only problem was no hot water in bathroom.

The room is clean and good location. There is no lift so that if your room is 2nd floor, it's hard to carry heavy suitecase to the room. But overall, good facility.

Very Nice PP Hotel
Very nice hotel located near independence monument. Very friendly and attentive staff. Complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast at hotel restaurant good but modest portions. Rooftop bar with incredible views. Banana and Sovanna restaurants nearby are extremely good, plentiful and cheap. Tuk-Tuks always out front making for $2 - 3 rides anywhere very convenient. Only issue was no hot water our initial day but resolved next day.

Nice staff but that was about it !!!
They did not even give me the room I paid for. The communication was terrible and they acted like nothing was wrong. When I asked about the free mini bar items they informed me it was only the bottled water. The breakfast was okay, best part being the omelette. The toiletry bottles were only half full, obviously used by prior guest and not replaced with new ones, disgusting !!! Also there was water on the bathroom floor from a small leak. I would definitely not stay there again and will not use Expedia anymore either !!!!

The room was very nice with a good shower. Great location for cafes and restaurants without being in the general tourist area. Breakfast was delicious if somewhat limited. Al a carte did mean slow delivery which didn’t suit us as we were working each day and needed prompt service. The pool area was nice but small with limited sun lounges. The staff were very helpful as we needed to store tools, extra cases etc. Overall a pleasant stay.

A cozy place with an old feel and delicious food
It was a business stay and I took the executive suite with a balcony big enough to hold a mini barbeque gathering. The bathroom was the size of a standard Hong Kong hotel room. Lots of eating options within a 2 km radius and a short walk to the Khmer night life spots should you care for that. A couple things to bear in mind before you choose this place- there's no elevator and the street in front of the hotel may get water-logged for a few hours following a heavy shower. I was on the first floor so the lack of a lift was not an issue at all and the street flooded just once during my stay. Given it was the rainy season I suppose it wasn't that bad after all. Do try the kitchen if you are a foodie- their version of Fish Amok is one of the best I have tried to say nothing about some of the other dishes on the menu. And the Garlic Baguette of course, it's Cambodia, ex-French colony, get the drift? :) Finally a delightful and smiling bunch of staff run the show!

So disappointed to realize housekeeping not only went in my bag but stole 5000 baht. Avoid this hotel at all cost unless you want your things stolen. More info: There is no elevator...and the room had an awkward smell. Looks nice in the photos but not what you get.

Overall nice hotel. Unfortunately during our stay they were redoing the room across the hall and the odors from the chemicals were a bit over powering. The hotel was close to the grand palace and the waterfront, but the traffic to get there made it smarter to grab a quick tuk tuk for safety.

Had a lovely time at this hotel The main reason why i would come back would be the well trained extremely helpful staff. Yes the hotel needs a little update but is good value for money and close enough to attractions. Just a short tuk tuk ride to the riverside.

Not the best! Hotel was being extended so very noisy. Staff didn't really understand English which resulted in our taxi arriving 4 hours early to pick us up. Breakfast was poor with a very limited choice, the worst we had in our 4 week tour of SE Asia!

Nice hotel in a central location
My husband and I stayed at the Villa Sovanna Boutique Hotel for two nights. It is in a great location, within walking distance to restaurants and the Royal Palace, and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The pool is great for relaxing at the end of the day with Happy Hour and delicious cocktails to enjoy. The staff are very attentive, the young barman who served us one night after we had been out for dinner put a candle on our table and served us with some roasted peanuts.

Hotel is in a perfect location for the Palace and riverfront. Great bbq restaurant across the street and excellent spa (La Rose) also across the street. The helpful staff sorted a tuk tuk for the airport run.

Nice hotel with good clean amenities. We stayed for 3 nights and found it in a good location to get around the city. The staff were very friendly but we did have some minor communication problems. However, the breakfast was not very good. The only coffee available was filtered coffee, there were no sides offered the croissants were not fresh and the poached eggs tasted like vinegar. We loved the fish and turtles in the lobby!

Having booked the Villa Sovanna partly on the strength of the customer rating, we were somewhat disappointed. On the plus side, the hotel has been modernised fairly recently, the location is good, the pool is good and the staff are very friendly. However, crucially, the room (no 7) had air conditioning that was nowhere near effective enough; it is to be expected that some hotels cut of power - and therefore aircon - when you and the key are not inside, but in a 10-hour night the aircon only succeeded in reducing the room temp from 30 to 27. We coped by removing the duvet and just sleeping under the duvet liner. Two other, smaller gripes: First, neither of our bedside table lamps worked, which was eventually resolved by discovering that both bulbs had failed, something that could surely have been checked earlier. Second, at breakfast (served in a small lobby area) there were no free tables, so we were transferred to a couple of armchairs, from where we would stretch for the food & drink on a coffee table. Both of these issue we would cheerfully have put up with as minor ones, but after a night in an overheated room we were feeling less forgiving.

Excellent small, friendly hotel close to palace, location is good/safe walking distance to very good western restaurants and local Cambodian cuisine. All the staff were very welcoming and manager Heng was very informative about what to see, where to go and prices. Would stay here again if visiting Phnom Penh.
