Small but comfortable. Everything worked as it should. Got a good nights rest. Could use more flat ware and dishes.

Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
Property itself is lovely; neighborhood and distance from downtown Philly NOT preferable
Charlene was a delight as a host and communicated daily during our 2 day stay. The brand new appliances, welcome tray, and small touches to this property are absolutely lovely. However we were not clear on the fact that this property is a basement and about a foot apart from other neighbors in this area. We were also a 35 minute drive from all of the major attractions in Philly. I have no doubt this was simply a misunderstanding on my mother and I’s part when we booked and we were just unclear on the locations of everything in an unfamiliar city. I would recommend this property to a single party entity who is looking for a small and quiet spot to stay for just a few days and doesn’t mind the driving if they are attempting to do the tourist route.
This place was great. We stayed for Family Weekend at Villanova. It was about 18 min from the campus and 30 min with traffic to downtown. All the amenities you could imagine.
The property was very clean and prepared. We walked in to fresh towels, soap, shaving cream. There were disposable toothbrushes and mini-toothpaste provided just in case. Washer and dryer with detergent and dryer sheets. A full kitchen with a dishwasher. It was way nicer than we were even expecting. It’s within reasonable distance of the city. I would stay here again if I were coming back to the Philly and Philly-adjacent areas.
Having stayed here before, I knew it was going to be perfect for my needs. Clean, well furnished, comfortable. Plumbing leak in space above tried to flood the kitchen late one evening. Owner responded rapidly, sending someone over to investigate & handle the water. What I thought was going to be a big problem turned out OK. Will gladly keep staying here when I visit Philly.
My daughter and I came to check out neighborhoods and apartments as she will be moving to the area. This studio rental was perfect for us. The kitchen was adequately supplied, the bed comfortable, nice closet space and great tv viewing options which we enjoyed after driving around during the day. Be sure to note how to park at the backside entry. You need to angle as you pull in. We had a Toyota Camry. It stuck out in what seemed to be the line of traffic but other vehicles were similarly parked. It acceptable and not problematic. It was a quiet neighborhood.
When we first came into the property, it wasn't properly cleaned. I was apprehensive on using the call feature to reach out to the owner, but she was outstanding. She quickly rectified the issue while we were out on the twon, and the property was perfect from there on out.
I will say that if you are uncomfortable being in close proximity to others, there is a door leading up to the main unit that is separated with a curtain. I have anxiety over that sort of thing, but as was stated in other reviews, the door was never touched while we were there, and the upstairs was very quiet throughout our stay.
I thought it'd be a fantastic place to stay during a business trip too! It was a great working space that kept distractions at bay.
I entered the wrong dates (April instead of May). I recognized it almost immediatelyand tried to correct it but the vrbo app would not allow me to do that.
I then contacted the owner. She understood and was sympathetic but said she could not provide a refund, it was up to vrbo not her.
I have found it very difficult to contact anyone at vrbo and after two weeks of trying, I still haven't received a response.
I respectfully request that you return my money. Of course I will accept some charges for your trouble.
Charlene's property was perfect for our long weekend in Philadelphia! It was clean and had everything we needed and things we didn't even know we needed! 😊 There was so much attention to detail and it was much appreciated.
Nice and clean, newly renovated basement unit within a row home. Always felt safe in the unit and walking the area, and the neighbors were friendly. Within walking distance of restaurants, supermarket, drugstores, public transportation, and several churches. The host was always very friendly and quick to respond. Enjoyed my stay here and look forward to coming back next year.
This property was very neat and clean. She really pays close attention to detail and had so many little things you don’t think to pack available like tape, scissors, and make up wipes. She even had slippers, toothbrushes and toothpaste waiting for us. I loved that there was off street parking available too.
This is a rare jewel of a rental property. While compact, it has everything you need for your stay...and more. Kitchen is well equipped for anything from a quick snack to a full meal! It's stocked w/ lots of spices, condiments, & basic cooking needs. Bathroom is better than many expensive hotels I've stayed in. Shower is particularly awesome. Linens are high quality. Large TV w/ futon seating @ the end of the bed. Queen size bed is comfortable. Small desk in a cubby hole is nice. Washer & dryer work well. On top of all this, the owner provided all kinds of guest perks: masks, bottled water, apples, K cup coffee, bananas, snacks, hot chocolate, and even a big bag of ICE! You do have to learn to control the heat (and probably air conditioning in summer) as the main thermostat isn't in the unit. BUT we had no problems & were very comfortable during our entire stay. Owner checked on us after our arrival & throughout the week. VERY pleasant, friendly, & helpful. IF POSSIBLE I WILL NEVER STAY ANYWHERE ELSE ON FUTURE TRIPS TO PHILADELPHIA!
This place is newly updated. It was clean. It would have gotten five stars from me, but it has two issues. The first, the air conditioner is a portable unit, and it has nowhere to drain to. It leaked into the floor and rain across the apartment. The second issue is security. It has a door to the upstairs apartment. The keyhole is on your side which makes me believe the upstairs can just walk into the downstairs apartment. I was not happy about that at all. When I stay somewhere I like the idea of having it like fort Knox. Knowing that it is secure. Other then those issues it was a great place to stay.
Sparkling clean. Any amenities you can imagine are at your fingertips. Responsive host. Located near anything you can possible need. Very private day and night. Reserve without hesitation
