Perfectly located on the pristine Walloon Lake this renovated mid century cottage is the picture-perfect getaway to Northern Michigan! Enjoy the expansive views of the lake sitting in the living/dinning area through the floor to ceiling glass that let’s tons of natural day light in. These beautiful windows continue throughout the home into the bedrooms and let you take in the natural beauty around you. (Please note: all windows have custom shades to pull down for privacy) If you appreciate location and tastefully decorated homes, this place is for you. The built in patio area that leads to the private dock offers multiple great sitting areas to enjoy a glass of wine and watch what’s happening on the lake. The mid century kitchen is unbeatable with it’s restored teal metal cabinets and gives the perfect amount of “funk” to this glass bungalow. This home offers a master suite with a full bathroom overlooking the back patio and lake along with two other bedrooms and another full bath. There is dock space available to tie off, but the lifts are occupied with the owner's boat and jet ski. Walloon Village is minutes away where you can enjoy fine dinning, shopping, rent boats and paddle boards and much more! If the village doesn’t offer everything you need you are 10 minutes to Petoskey and 20-25 minutes to Harbor Springs. *Access to water toys and boats are not included in the rental of this property. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall our experience was excellent. The cottage is well stocked with everything needed. It is relaxing, comfortable, and has beautiful views of the lake. We spent a lot of time hanging out on the dock. We really enjoyed the many options for sitting and dining outside. The beds were comfortable as was the rest of the furniture. The only complaint we have is the strong mold smell coming up from the basement. A relative brought over an air filter that we put in the living room and that did seem to help. I think dehumidifiers would help even more. But, even with that, I would rent this house again. We had a wonderful time.

Reviewer Comments: As Walloon Lake vacationers for decades, this was the first time we have stayed anywhere other than the West Arm. Other than being next to a public park, we enjoyed the convenient location, both by boat and by car. The property was comfortable and well-equipped. The reservation and check-in process was easy, however a couple of days after we left, the management company reached out inquiring about a missing dish, which we never saw. They contacted us later to report that the housekeeper had broken it prior to our arrival. We loved our stay at the mid-century cottage, but this left a sour taste.

The only downside was The realization that this house has seen better days. It is pretty obvious that the owner has lost interest in this one time Jewel. We would gladly come back next summer if The obvious maintenance items were addressed.

We had been to various other Walloon lake locations and for my husband it's all about the fishing! He and my son had some luck at this location of the lake so it made for a good week for them! The home is nice but a bit worn and dated from the look in the pictures. We loved the kayak and SUP boards that came with the rental! The dock was also nice to hang out on if you bring your own beach chairs which we did! Not sure if the place is worth the summer rate, but we had a nice time getting away from home during COVID lockdown!

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The pictures looked great! Unfortunately, when we arrived the home was dirty and neglected. It felt like the people living there had just walked out (5 years ago) and not prepared the home for guests. We had to sweep off the deck and clean the deck furniture. The refrigerator (small) had a block of ice growing on the cooling element that leaked water and ruined our food on the bottom shelf. No empty drawers for clothes, no space in bathroom for personal items, etc. The water toys were in disrepair and stored in a dirty dusty garage. A main outlet was hanging by wires. The slider door lock was inoperable (couldn't lock it). No secure trash disposal system (no city bags and no lock on container by road thus animals got in). I could go on... we made the best of it but would not stay here again, nor would I recommend it. This property has potential but needs some serious attention both maintenance and cleaning wise.
