"We enjoyed our time at Echo Pines and would stay here again. The coffee station was great! Kitchen was well equipped and included a nice array of spices too. The two bedrooms are upstairs. The stairs are pretty steep. So, if you have children or a small dog (like we do) you may want to block the stairs. The beds are very comfortable. Bathrooms were well stocked and very clean.The basket of maps and information about the area was helpful. Ellen even provides binoculars! Be sure to take them along on your morning walks to spot the loons on the lake.We liked the proximity to trails on the quiet side. Hiked Acadia Mountain, St Sauveur, Flying Mountain, Valley Peak, and around Echo Lake. Wonderland and Ship Harbor are more gentle trails with beautiful views. We also had tickets for afternoon and sunrise at Cadillac Mountain. If you can, go in the afternoon BEFORE so you can enjoy the views and scout out the location you are comfortable with for the sunrise. We really enjoyed walking the Bar Island Trail during low tide at sunset. We got some great pictures. Followed by dinner downtown in Bar Harbor. Enjoyed our trip! And loved staying at Echo Pines."
