About this property

Western Watch

  • Western Watch is a fabulous property located in the heart of Poldark country with incredible, 180-degree sweeping views out across the sea. Inside the bungalow, guests will love the characterful interiors with the vintage-style kitchen, original artwork adorning the walls and the cosy lounge with its wood-burning stove for the cooler autumn evenings. The owner is a local artist who displays her work around the cottage and which can be bought by guests - so you can take a memento home with you should you wish!

Both the kitchen/diner and the living room have concertina doors which open on to the patio and large garden which has the incredible sea views. The garden is enclosed making it an ideal property for guests bringing young children and/or pets. Guests will love sitting out of an evening and enjoying a glass of wine watching the sun set over the sea.

All three of the double bedrooms are located on the ground floor along with the family bathroom which has both a fabulous roll-top bath and a walk-in shower. There is an additional WC.

Guests can enjoy off-road parking with space for up to two cars, as well as wireless internet available throughout the property. Up to two well-behaved pets are welcome.

Western Watch is ideally located for West Cornwall’s incredible coastline and beaches. There are many pubs, restaurants and cafes within easy reach. Pendeen itself is a linear settlement, with an attractive church and an award-winning pub, the North Inn. There are plenty of pubs, restaurants and cafes within walking distance and every other Saturday there is a farmers' market in the centre of the town. Geevor and Levant Mines are popular tourist attractions only a short distance away.

The sandy beach at Portheras Cove is just down the road where the white lighthouse of Pendeen Watch stands on a headland overlooking the bay. The hidden beach of Portheras Cove was recently voted ‘Best Secret Beach’ by The Times newspaper and is an absolute gem within walking distance of the front door.
