Townhead Farmhouse - sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

Townhead is an unexpected and luxurious surprise, when you step inside. Wood panelling, eclectic colours and stylish details all combine to make this a real treat of an escape. Upstairs there is an enormous four poster bed and a bathroom with a real open fire. Downstairs, the airy twin bedroom, has a huge ensuite shower room and glass doors onto a terrace with a large outdoor, log-fired bath.

The kitchen is well equipped with a hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine and large fridge/freezer. The table has excellent views to the south and the Roberts Speaker, means you can connect your device and listen to your favourite tunes. The sitting room has an open log fire, comfortable sofa, TV and DVD player.

Library shelves in the high ceilinged hall, house a large variety of books and DVDs for guests to enjoy and there is a desk by the window, perfect for writing that novel, or just catching up with emails. Super fast fibre broadband is connected.

Outside, the west facing terrace is perfect for an evening drink or BBQ. Light the Hikki, wood-fired hot tub and soak away the cares of the world. Great walks go in every direction, right from the door, and if you crave the sense of being away from it all, whilst stil being connected, Townhead is a slice of heaven.

There are two well appointed ensuite bedrooms. Upstairs, the four poster bed is straight from a Jane Austen book and the bathroom beyond has a real wood fire and comfortable armchair for some uplifiting boudoir living. Tune into the Roberts Radio, or connect your own device to play tunes via Bluetooth.

Downstairs, the zip & link twin beds can be made into a double on request. The ensuite shower is enormous and when you slide back the window, you step out onto the generous decking and into the Hikki Hot Tub.

Great getaway

The place was beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing. The owners left us with some breakfast provisions as well. Can't imagine a better place to stay in this part of Scotland.

Townhead Farmhouse a lovely home from home place to unwind

Townhead is a beautiful rural retreat perfect for a few days relaxing and visiting the local border towns. They have thought of everything for your stay, including a few essential items on arrival ie. Bread, milk etc and are happy to help if you need anything. On approach there’s a long farm track which is clearly stated on the website, and having stayed at Townhead twice it is a very minor thing. Infact the location is only 10 minutes drive from Peebles town centre and all its amenities. The farmhouse exterior is idyllic and internally the decor is equally stunning. We especially love the main bedroom suite which spans the entirety of the first floor, with a four poster bed and luxurious bathroom which even has a period working fireplace! We had snow on our last visit and the rural setting looked stunning and the roaring sitting room fire was so cosy and relaxing. Definitely the ideal place to wind down and relax.

An exceptional home.

Townhead is an exceptional home for comfort and elegance. We enjoyed our stay with friends, quiet and peaceful location, a short drive to Peebles and Innerleithen. We enjoyed it so much we have booked for a few days in Summer 2024.

Delightful albeit remote

A very beautiful house with excellent facilities and wonderful views. Much as we loved the location, however, it is quite remote so not a place to stay if you like to pop into town often.

Peace and Tranquility

Absolutely loved this place. The property was exactly as described and the location was beautiful. If you’re looking for a spacious, well equipped and comfortable place that’s close enough to everything that Peebles has to offer while being remote enough to provide peace and tranquility then we would highly recommend this property.

A Perfect Retreat.

Townhead exceeded our expectations in every way. The quiet, peaceful surroundings and wonderful views. The house is furnished beautifully, and very well equipped. Clean, spacious and the most comfortable beds. It’s easily the nicest place we’ve stayed in the UK. We visit the Borders/Innerleithen/Peebles frequently, so we’ll definitely book again.

Perfect home for a quiet getaway

My husband and I have rented many different homes across the world and this home is the absolutely best, by far. The scenery right outside the house is breathtaking, and the inside of the home is clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed for our week-long stay. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Stylish, clean, comfortable accommodation in the Scottish Borders with fabulous 360 degree views.

Really comfortable stylish well appointed cottage in the Scottish Borders. In a beautiful peaceful location with long reaching views of the hills and farmland. We particularly loved the south facing patio area where we could watch the lambs. Loads of great local sights including castles, riverside walks, gardens and Peebles only a few miles away for shopping and dining. We will definitely book again.

A short break in scottish borders

Outstanding accommodation and setting , a luxury self catering break in a dream setting displaying all the beauty of this part of Scotland. The accommodation was exceptional with all the the necessary self catering equipment and rooms at a high standard and of course the hot tub. If you're looking for a luxurious quiet rest with outstanding scenery I fully recommend

Stunning Splendour, Comfort and Practicality

Having stayed in another of Lulu's properties, I knew I'd be in for a treat when I booked to stay at her recently renovated 'Townhead,' - and I wasn't wrong. Lavishly decorated and practically equipped, including the wood-fired hot-tub, plenty of reading material and an exquisite en-suite bathroom, it's the perfect base for exploring the Borders.

The Perfect Holiday Home!

This house is better than any other holiday home we have ever stayed in! It is truly wonderful with the most breath-taking views out of every window! Everything has been thought about and is nye on perfect! We were trying to think of anything to make it better…. A warm towel rail! And then I saw the switch literally 10 minutes before we left! So as I said, it has everything! Take your bikes and explore! It’s wonderful!

Exquisite getaway - you won't want to leave!

The farmhouse itself is absolutely stunning with perfect interiors and great outdoor space allowing you to fully relax and enjoy the surrounding landscape in any weather. Had a fantastic weekend here with family and our dogs, with everything we could need from an awesome books and DVD collection to the outdoor tub and walking tracks. If you enjoy the luxury of finer things in a tranquil setting - this is the place for you. Would highly recommend this place to anyone seeking some restful time out from busy lives (and some serious interior inspo!).

Gorgeous Cosy Cottage

This is was our second stay on the Neidpath Estate but our first in this property. It was every bit as perfect as the first. Comfortable, cosy, well equipped cottage with plenty of space and lots of quirky and classy features. If you want to be close to amenities this is not for you but for us it was a perfect, secluded location with fabulous views. We will definitely be back.

Simply beautiful!

We had a wonderful holiday at this unique place! The old farm house has been converted into a well equipped and perfectly styled retreat. If you are looking for a quiet place in a beautiful surrounding - that is, green hills and sheep -, go there! Also a perfect starting point for country walks and visits to Edinburgh. Mind that all visits to Inns and pubs and the daily shopping are by car only. Drive carefully due to dirt roads (and sheep, of course :-)

A perfect getaway

Stayed for for nights in early November with my partner and parents. This property is amazing. Beautiful decor and from what it seems to say on the Neidpath website, lovingly rescued, restored and extended. It was a shame it was too cold and wet for us to use the decking area on this occasion. It ticked all the boxes for is. Rural, very quiet with no one close yet within an easy drive from all the facilities you can need. We've stayed in various places around Peebles over the past seven years and this is by far the best place we have found.

Perfect

We loved everything about our stay at Townhead from the glorious views to the cozy and thoughtfully planned house. Communication with the manager and the housekeeping staff before and during the stay was prompt and kind. The welcome drinks and food meant we didn’t have to run into Peebles when we first arrived. We unpacked and would have happily stayed much (much!) longer than a week. It’s a wonderful area to walk and explore but really, you’ll want to stay home and read or write or draw. Just go.

Beautiful

The house is beautiful , very well equipped and beautifully decorated, the master bedroom bath is awesome, however it’s quite remote so if you want to stay then a car is a must , and stock up on groceries too before hand , we we’re attending a family wedding at the castle and foolishly thought we could walk to the venue! It’s 10 minutes in a car and something of a hike if you’re walking so something to bear in mind , some of the local taxis were able to find us but the drivers bringing us and taking us back to Edinburgh struggled to find the location , if you are looking for beautiful and majestic isolation with all mod cons then it’s definitely the place for you
