The city of Tahlequah, located 20 minutes away and is part of the "Green Country" region of Oklahoma and was established as the capital of the 19th century Cherokee Nation in 1893, as part of the new settlement in Indian Territory after the Trail of Tears. The current and present Cherokee Complex can be toured as well as the old court house, cultural center, old jail, art galleries, restaurant and gift shops. Some friends and I stayed here for a Memorial Day Weekend. Chuck and Vickie baked cookies for our check-in and were incredibly prompt in answering questions over text. The outdoor spaces were incredible with plenty of seating and activities. Would highly recommend staying here and having coffee on the back porch with friends and family! Thank you so much Chuck and Vickie!!!
