The apartment is at the center of Paris, but also in a small neighborhood with local shops and restaurants, perfect for tourism. There's an elegantly stocked convenience store at the corner and a famous butcher across the street. The Tour d'Argent bakery is 4 blocks away. The neighborhoodd restaurant, Les Fous, is excellent. I'm told that the smaller ethnic restaurants are great, too. There are concerts in the nearby church. The building looks to be old, perhaps dating to the development of the island in the 17th century. The rooms are spacious, large and high-ceilinged with good outdoor light. The place is under-furnished, plain chairs, no artwork, but the appliances all work, and it's rare to get this square-footage in central Paris. Transport is nearby and many museums are in walking distance. The visit's entry and exit were confused—I did not get into the apartment as early as I thought we had agreed on. The mangement is by a company that handles dozens of apartments, so communication details can get lost. We had temperate weather & did not check the heating or cooling (there may be no cooling.) One negative: the famous ice-cream maker, Berthillon, is just below, so the street is packed with tourists on weekends. Overall, a great stay.
