The Neighborhood:
This private villa is part of the prestigious Movie Colony neighborhood where the glamorous Hollywood stars come to play. The property has a prime location two blocks from the Uptown Design District, and less than a 5-minute walk to Downtown's best retail shops, bars, and restaurants.
Even though Movie Colony is close to the downtown area, the property remains extremely private, shielded by the wall and landscaping in the backyard. One thing to be aware of is that, on occasion, you may be able to hear vehicles passing by on the street behind the house or a medical helicopter due to being close to the hospital.
The historic Movie Colony is named after the many famous movie stars who owned homes in the area from the 1930's to 1960's, including Marilyn Monroe, Cary Grant, Dinah Shore, Frank Sinatra, and Al Jolson.
The estate is also only a 7-minute walk to the famous 22-acre Ruth Hardy Park, where you will find 8 tennis courts, 2 children's play areas, basketball court, 2 volleyball courts, numerous picnic tables with BBQs, and large open fields. The adjacent Wellness Park is a 5-acre wellness oasis that offers a quarter-mile walking/jogging loop, five outdoor fitness stations, and four gardens: meditation, healing, fragrance and a memorial garden. There are also popular public hiking trails just a short walk or bike ride away that offer spectacular views overlooking the city, the airport, and valley.
Getting Around:
You can walk from the house to most in-town restaurants and bars. Many of the best restaurants of Palm Springs are within ~5 minutes walk from the house: Copley's, Eight4Nine, Workshop Kitchen, El Mirasol, Trio, Jake's, Birba, Cheeky's, Blue Coyote, and Tac/Quila.
There is parking space inside the gated property for at least 4 cars.
The Palm Springs International Airport is approximately 3 miles away and Interstate 10 (that connects you to Joshua Tree National Park or all the way to Los Angeles and Las Vegas) is also only a few miles away. The Convention Center, and the casino are quite close as well.
Other Things to Note:
* **City Requirements:** The City of Palm Springs requires a signed rental agreement, a copy of your government-issued ID, and the license plate numbers of your vehicles. This will be managed through a secure portal after your reservation is confirmed.
* **Pool Heating:** The pool can be heated for an optional fee of $99 per night (2-night minimum). Please provide at least 48 hours' notice to ensure the pool is warm upon your arrival.
* **Early Check-in / Late Check-out: We are happy to offer flexible arrival and departure times, when possible, for an additional fee of $25 per hour. Please request this service in advance.
* **Cancellation Policy:** Guests can cancel within 48 hours of booking for a full refund. After that, a 50% refund is available for cancellations made at least 30 days before check-in. Cancellations within 30 days are non-refundable. We strongly encourage purchasing travel insurance.
* **Holiday & Event Bookings:** Please note that reservations during holidays and special event weekends are non-cancellable.

This place was wonderful. Quiet street, walked everywhere. View from back yard was amazing. Road out back was busy, but we were not bothered by the sounds. Inside was comfortable and nice. Definitely would rent this home again!

We stayed here for a moms’ trip with six women and overall had a good time, especially thanks to the location and outdoor space. The backyard is a real highlight—great for relaxing and hanging out—and the separate casita setup could be a nice option for extended families, particularly if grandparents or another couple want a bit more privacy.That said, there were a few areas where the experience didn’t quite match the listing. The description of the bedrooms was confusing—it notes four bedrooms in the main house, but in reality there are three in the main house and one in the casita. Not a dealbreaker, but helpful to know when planning sleeping arrangements.Communication around early check-in was also a bit challenging. It seemed like there may have been a system change on the management side, as we received multiple messages saying we hadn’t submitted information that we had already provided. It made the process feel more stressful than it needed to be.The biggest area for improvement is the overall condition of the home. There were some maintenance issues (e.g., mold in bathrooms, missing or burnt-out lightbulbs, and lack of clear instructions for things like WiFi and outdoor misters). Additionally, the photos don’t fully reflect the current condition of the property.With some attention to maintenance and clearer communication, this place really has the potential to be fantastic. As it stands, it just feels like it needs a bit more care and upkeep to match what’s advert
