Not bad
For a quick getaway this is great, the metal staircase was a bit awkward for me as I have MS but ok otherwise.
The room was basic but good value. The bed and bedding were new, clean and comfortable. The communal area leading to the rooms was a bit tired but clean and bright. The staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of parking at the venue. We also ate in the steak restaurant which had a great atmosphere. We had one of the sharing tomahawk ribeye steak specials but disappointingly it was very chewy. We would definitely stay again and the burgers in the restaurant looked delicious.

Bar staff were friendly, reasonabe priced drinks. Rooms are up steep metal stairs. Bar members show you to your room the member of staff apologised for the mess he looked embarrassed. Lock was dodgy couldnt lock

No mention until I asked that breakfast was not available.
No hot water in room basin at 7.45 am
£90 per night was not good value
Very dated room. No sleep at all due to uncomfortable bed and noise from road traffic. Needs additional glazing due to location of road. Noise from bar below. Noise from other rooms also. Also had a meal at the restaurant below which we should have refused payment as steaks were tough and could not provide all items as listed on menu.

unwelcoming
Room ok at best very noisy from traffic passing bed ok but pillows went through the metal headboard making it uncomfortable
Room was up 12 metal steps from outside
On arrival was not told that if we wanted to eat there would need to book a table
Went down to eat at 6.55pm was told fully booked no where nearby as an alternative we had to sit in pub side of bar for a drink had to wait 10 minutes before someone came to serve us felt all attention was on restaurant side if your not eating they're not bothered about you
Sehr freundlicher Empfang. Hervorragendes Essen im hauseigenen Pub. Sehr gute Betten. Großzügiger, kostenloser Parkplatz. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Vielen Dank an das ganze Team!
Cheap and cheerful but most importantly the room and bathroom was clean. I did wake earlier than i'd hoped due to the squeaky floor boards of the other rooms when the guests were vacating, but it was no more annoying than the sounds of doors slamming at more expensive hotels. I would definitely stay there again. Free wifi too.

Average room but did the job
The room was very average, we had room 4, at night the bright light outside shines into the room which is not great when you want to sleep. The bed was not very comfortable and very low, no wardrobe to hand clothes although the other rooms did have this.
The towels were not changed once during the 5 night stay, bin not emptied and tea/coffee not topped up, we had to ask for this as well as more toilet roll as only 1 was provided.
The food in the restaurant was amazing and the staff were very friendly, the stay was pleasant enough.

Room okay, but a bit battered - door stuck, entry via crummy lobby door. pretty clean, shower couldn't manage to be hot and powerful at same time. Road outside very noisy as just old single glazed sash window. Staff very helpful. Burger (particularly as this is supposed to be a steakhouse) was appalling and took ages to arrive.
Comfortable room but let down by temperature of shower. Excellent staff and fantastic food. Very convenient with regular bus service in to town and beyond.
We checked in on friday was seen to quickly shown room. We wasnt told where to hand keys in at end of the stay or who to contact if we needed anything. Ince in the room it was very hot radiator unable to turn off. No hand wash in bathroom and towels very small. The stairs to the rooms are metal and in the outside felt this should be mentioned more in the locations description i have mobilty issues but it was okay. The rooms was clean tidy and basic. Very small bin and only 2 toilet rolls and as mwntion unsire who to contact. It is by. Busy road but didnt really both us. Good black out curtains and comfy bed. On second night we needed early night and was awoken maby times by a barking dog we did not realise that its pet friendly rooms. As in the description its not made clear only apon re reading its in the small print. If we had known this we may not of booked. This dog kept barking and i had to complain. The guests had gone out was going on until 1am and gone. The lady i spoke to was really helpful once i called down but was nothing she could do as i said they went out. The refunded me that nights stay. Overall its ok little things could be improved and its not bed and breakfast as they dont offer breakfast. Hand wash in rooms, bigger towels better bins and more information etc on who to speak to etc
We stayed for 3 nights, room was lovely ,clean and comfortable, no problems at all. Could hear a little music from the pub but not that it disturbed us. Manager showed us to our room bought fresh warm towels and gave us our keys to come and go as we pleased.(had a seperate entrance to rooms, not through the pub) We booked a table at the Cattlemans Steak House (within the pub) with family, the food was absolutely fab!! Steaks were beautiful nand the ribs just melted off the bones!! Staff were brilliant and very friendly. Will definatly be staying here again!!!
Lovely couple who run this pub, they are really friendly, polite and will sort any issues straight away. The staff are also polite and friendly. Very clean rooms!
Hotel nice with good food, no towel change and next doors shower extremely noisy which woke us up at 0645, issues with our shower being too cold we’re quickly resolved. Feel the hotel a working progress and for that reason would not stay again.
