The location is nice and quiet, with lovely restaurants around and beautiful views of the lake. The property itself is stunning, and is fantastic value for money. The walk into town is actually quite nice, or you can easily grab a tuc tuc if in a rush. My only suggestions for improvement are that it was quite difficult to contact the host using the number provided through Expedia; however, there was a number on the door when I arrived which proved much more fruitful. I had a great stay at the Gecko it was nice to be outside the main center for some quiet and the cocktails were excellent. The team arranged my taxi transfer to the airport so it was easy exit.

An absolute highlight of our trip, I could not recommend Marabella eco lodge more. The staff were helpful and friendly, the food was incredible, and the beach was right at the door step. We loved meeting Marta Elena, the cat, and Ginger, the dog, apparently there was another cat we weren’t lucky enough to meet. Only a short walk down the beach brings you to Cecon, a nature reserve where you can see iguanas, turtles, and crocodiles where they are looked after by some amazing volunteers before...
