We had an amazing week here! John and Sue were wonderful. They were so friendly and generous and let our son pick vegetables from their garden and John even gave us salmon that he caught that morning which made our stay extra special! The location was great because everything we wanted to see and do was only a short drive away. The walk down to the water took less than a minute and it was really nice! The lake was beautiful, the firepit was great to have, and the house was cozy. We felt at home there! We will be back!!
John and Sue's place is perfect if you're looking for a quiet, cozy, out of the way, getaway.
It's far enough from things that it feels isolated, but close enough to tons of great places if you want a change of pace.
Water access in the area is not great, so if you're looking for a beach-y vacation, or a lake/dock setup, it's not ideal, but there are tons of great beaches and lakes in short driving distance.
John and Sue are also great hosts. Very friendly and kind, and attentive when you need them, or invisible if you don't.
Highly recommend for a small family or two couples.
We thoroughly enjoyed our family of 5 vacation at this clean, spacious home. It had everything we needed. The location is close to Lion’s Head and Tobermory. We were able to shop, to swim on the nearby beaches and experience the different excursions Bruce Peninsula has to offer. We even spent a day at Sauble Beach which is less than an hour away. John is a very attentive and gracious host. As previously stated, the private beach is not ideal as it does not have a proper seating area or dock but we were able to put our kayak in and paddle around the beautiful calm waters surrounding the house. It truly is a beautiful getaway.
Would not want to be anywhere else -a true get away. Everything that you could need is there. We enjoyed paddle boarding every day and short trips to many must see locations in the area.
The cottage worked perfectly for our family of 4 as a home base for day trips. John was very easy to work with, and provided all the info we needed up front. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need.
We truly enjoyed our stay at this lovely Bruce Penninsula cottage. Our host was wonderful to meet and had great suggestions on what to do in the area. The cottage was exactly as presented in the listing and met all our expectations. We look forward to a possible return.
Our stay at John and Sue’s property was wonderful. We hiked and explored the peninsula most days and ended our days with a swim in the bay and just relaxing at the cottage. The cottage was clean and the hosts were friendly and accommodating. The updated kitchen was stocked with pretty much everything needed. If you are expecting warm nights bring a fan but otherwise we had a great stay.
We had a great trip in Bruce Peninsula. The cottage was perfect for a family of five. The house is nice and tidy and the kitchen has everything you need. The washer/dryer is also a nice added value. The access to the water was great to go take a swim or to do some water activities (we brought our paddle boards). The location was also great to do activities in the region : Tobermory, Grotto, Sauble Beach, etc. all in less than 30 to 45min drive. John is a welcoming host and made sure we didn't lack anything. I would recommend without a doubt !
Nous avons passé une semaine formidable. Tout était selon nos attentes. La proximité du bord de la baie menant au lac a été utile pour s'y rendre facilement.John est un hôte attentionné.
A very clean and organized rental with nice access to water and close access to many good spots in the Tobermory area. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The cottage is spacious, clean and brimming with natural light. It is surrounded with cedar trees and is very private and quiet as a result. Lovely front deck and fire pit on front lawn. New barbecue out back. The kitchen and bathrooms are up to date and well-equipped. Shallow and rocky waterfront down a winding, forested path as described in ad with a very private shore and dock in a secluded bay. John and Sue were welcoming and responsive hosts and responded to one plumbing problem immediately and got it fixed the next day. Great location just 10 minutes from Lion's Head and 15 minutes to Tobermory with lots to do in the area. Highly recommended.
Lovely cottage and property! Very quiet. Short walk through forest path to water. Everything was as described. Such a well stocked cottage. Everything you need to make it home. Would definitely return 💕
This property is a great getaway for a family. The cabin is as described; clean, simple, well-stocked! John has great communication and answered all my questions quickly. Definitely recommend staying at this cottage as a base to explore the Bruce Peninsula
We rented this cottage for a week up on the Bruce Peninsula and knew the area well. The cottage was very nice and had everything you needed for a great week away. A big thanks to the hosts!
We really enjoyed our stay at Pleasant Harbour. The owners were very attentive to detail and ensured that everything was in place. The cottage was pristine and it had everything we needed to enjoy our stay!
I had high expectations for the property and it exceeded them. Lovely property in a great location. All we could hear were birds, wind and the lake. Highly recommended!
Since arrival John and his wife made us feel at home. Super clean cottage with everything you could possibly need. Very informative owners. The water was pristine. 10/10 would def recommend and will be returning in belle the near future!
We had a fantastic time at this rental. Location is in between Tobermory and Wiarton and in close proximity to many trails and parks. The kitchen was perfect for cooking our meals everyday. Outfitted with brand new appliances and all the tools needed for cooking large meals. The living area was very cozy and the heaters in every room thawed the chill in our bones from long days hiking. The fire pit out front was perfect for a roaring fire and roasting marshmallows. Overall we had a great time! Would definitely recommend this rental for anyone looking to getaway with a few friends and enjoys the Bruce!
