About this property
A Restful Creekside Getaway
With over 1-1/2 acres, you’ll have lots of options at Two Creeks. Relax at the creek and fire pit, rock on the covered porch, or sun on the open deck. Enjoy the views, and the sounds, of mountain nature. You can see — and hear — the creek from the porch and deck.
Located conveniently to Franklin, NC, Clayton, GA, and Highlands, NC, Two Creeks offers great access (no winding roads or steep mountain climbs), and superior nearby amenities.
A half mile up Georgia Road (Highway 441), visit Primitive Outback Kayaking and Gem Mining.
Just up the road toward Franklin is Old School Knife Works, and a few miles north on 441 is the Smoky Mountain Visitor's Center, where you'll find information on all the local activities and attractions, along with souvenirs the whole family will enjoy.
Travel another five miles or so to reach the beautiful town of Franklin, our county seat. Franklin sits on the site of an old Cherokee town called Nikwasi. Visit the Nikwasi Mound, a proud reminder of our heritage and history.
In Franklin’s downtown, you’ll find antique shopping, shops for clothing, a bookstore, an outdoor store, a kitchen store, and delicious dining options. There are coffee shops, a donut shop, and restaurants, including Brooklyn Bagels, Smokestack Cafe, J.R. Chophouse, and Gracious Plates.
While in Franklin, visit our museums: the Gem and Mineral Museum, the Macon County Historical Society and Museum, and the Scottish Tartan Museum.
Hiking trails can easily be accessed in Franklin. The Bartram is a local favorite. Also check out Wayah Bald and Siler Bald; both are off the Appalachian Trail. The Fire Tower at Wayah Bald is just a .3 mile paved walk, and provides outstanding views, so it’s a good hike for beginners or children. Hikers have access to some of the best hiking trails in North Carolina in our location!
Traveling south from Two creeks on Highway 441 toward Clayton, Georgia, you'll notice a turn for Highway 106 (Dillard Road) and Scaly Mountain; on this road, you'll find zip lining at Highlands Aerial Park, and other outdoor activities, like hillside tubing, fishing and ice skating at Highlands Outpost. Travel a little further on this road to reach Highlands, NC; the downtown area is conveniently set up for walking to shopping and dining.
And, of course, shopping and dining in Dillard and Clayton, Georgia, are well known. Julep Farms, in Dillard, offers upscale dining. Black Rock Mountain State Park is a little further south on Highway 441. And be sure to check out Ace Hardware on Main Street in Clayton. It’s not just a hardware store. They offer furniture, clothes, housewares, along with the usual hardware. Youngsters will love a visit to Wander, an outdoor store with lots of fun and usable merchandise.
Western North Carolina is well known for its waterfalls. Dry Falls is under 9 miles from Two Creeks, and Bridal Veil Falls is just 9.5 miles away.
Boats and pontoons are available for rent on local lakes, and horseback riding is available just 4 miles away, at Dillard Stables.
Indoor family activities are available for those rainy days that you might encounter in our temperate rainforest. For those with children, The Factory, in Franklin, is an indoor fun park. They also have a trampoline park and go carts. An ice cream shop and pizza parlor are located onsite.
Franklin has its own Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts, so be sure to check on the latest offerings - which may include plays, comedians, or musical groups.
When you’re back at Two Creeks, you’ll find parking for up to four cars on our 22 ft wide, 50 ft long concrete driveway. Sit a while, and swing on the front porch. Enjoy the outdoors, and wave at neighbors who pass by; they'll probably wave back!
Do you prefer privacy? Open the french doors at the back, and breathe in the fresh air. Step out to rest on the covered and gated back porch, and rock your cares away as you listen to the mellow sounds of the cascading waterfalls at the creeks down the hill at the back of the property, and along the side.
Step on over and enjoy the sun on the open deck, while you relax on comfy, thick-cushioned chairs. Cushions are protected in a storage cabinet on the covered porch - no worries about wet cushions. Be sure to check out the mountain view from the deck.
A charcoal pellet grill is ready on the deck, with charcoal provided for you. Fire up the gas fire pit table in the middle of the deck, when the nights are chilly. Relax ….
Down the hill, near the creek, is the open fire pit, complete with wood for your fire. A starter log and lighter are also provided. Conclude your evening by roasting marshmallows for s'mores, or just stargazing by the warmth of the fire with a cup of cocoa.
Two Creeks is a stopping point for a flock of turkeys, so you may see them passing through. Hawks frequently land in our trees. Other birds, such as the pileated woodpecker, cardinal and bluebird, visit. We have a couple of bunnies that show up, and we even have a local bear, who leaves her paw prints on our sidewalk! Coyotes pass through the property late at night, so you may hear them howling in the wee hours.
When you arrive at Two Creeks, just three steps will take you up to the front porch. You’ll find everything you need on the first floor, including the queen-sized master bed and bath. Luxuriate in the garden tub, or grab a quick shower. A half bath is located at the bottom of the stairs, also on the first floor.
Dish satellite is available, as well as a DVD player, with over one hundred videos for your viewing pleasure. Our internet is not suitable for high-powered games or data-heavy work, but it will allow you to check your e-mail or play simple games like Scrabble or Solitaire. A collection of books is also provided for quiet times of reflection.
You'll find a very well equipped kitchen. A Nespresso coffee maker and a Cuisinart K-cup/coffee brewer (starter pods and K-cups supplied) will provide a morning greeting, but you'll also find All-Clad fry pans, a VitaMix blender, and a toaster, for a complete breakfast. There's a convenient dining area with seating for six, and a comfortable living room with lots of seating, including a glider chair and a comfy recliner. Plenty of lighting is provided for reading.
Do you enjoy card games or board games with family? We’ve got you covered, with several packs of cards, and a variety of games.
Ceiling fans are placed in nearly every room, for those warm summer nights. And, the heating system will take care of any chills you might acquire outside during the fall and winter.
Upstairs are a king bedroom, a queen bedroom and a full bath, along with an area for game-playing. Upstairs has its own HVAC system, for your comfort.
If you return from sightseeing to Two Creeks at night, you'll find the porch is lighted by a lamp post in the front yard. There are also porch lights on both the front and back porch, for your safety and security.
Join us at Two Creeks at Hannah Mountain; you'll have access to the best that Western North Carolina has to offer. We look forward to hosting you!

The house is great. It is in a great location. Beautiful yard and nice creek in the back . I would definitely stay here again . The owner was very helpful and quickly available for any questions I had.
It was our first time staying in the area but it won’t be our last! So many fun things to do and see!
The house is beautiful, comfortable and has everything you could need. Plus the property is spectacular. We will definitely stay again on our next trip
The house was outstanding. The property is beautiful. It was perfect for our three couples. Plenty of room to relax and enjoy the company while allowing room for privacy, too
Located coveniently near Dillard and Clayton. Lots of great hikes in the area. Host provided lots of helpful information to enhance our stay.
This home proved to be exactly as advertised. The backyard is very peaceful with the small waterfall and water wheel. A good rain one night made them even more splendid! We loved that the kitchen was so well appointed. It made cooking for a large group easy. And the beds were very comfortable as well. We will certainly come back when the need arises.
This is our second stay at Two Creeks, and we were just as satisfied this stay as we were the last. Mrs. Dixie has everything you could ever need for your stay written down and available. The house and property are well equipped and well maintained. Our kids really enjoy the yard and creek exploration, and there is no better way to end the day than around the fire pit with s’mores. Thanks for another great stay… we will be back.
This is just a lovely home, with everything one would want in a rental property: beautiful view of the creeks from the back porch, peace and quiet, every imagined extra in a kitchen, incredibly comfortable bed. The only thing about which I would make other travelers aware and which we did not read in the description is that the guest is responsible for removal of the trash at the end of the vacation period. I am from rural NC and understand that many areas do not have trash pick-up, but was really surprised that trash disposal was not included in the cleaning cost. The transfer station was just a few miles up the road, but we were not driving a vehicle that made me particularly want to take off trash. In fact, we had decided against another location for that very reason. But, if this is no big deal for you or if you are driving a larger vehicle, don't let this stop you from renting this great house! Just wish we would have had more time to enjoy the house itself, but the area is just too full of beautiful hiking!!!
This place was great. Sitting creekside at the fire pit was all I needed. House was very clean and the host was more than helpful during the stay. I would definitely stay again.
We were in the area to visit family. This house was less than 5 minutes from them and provided us a great opportunity to be close but not intrusive. We would definitely stay again.
The property was easy to access and as beautiful as described. The children enjoyed playing in the creek behind the house. We all enjoyed the rocking chairs on the porch, the spacious accommodations, and the location. We hope to visit again!
It was clean. Well stocked with everything you could need. We enjoyed the creek the fire pit at night. We made s’mores and hot dogs. The creek was so relaxing. Loved the back porch watching the birds. Our grandchildren loved it. We sit by the fire pit at night and played cards. They watched movies which were provided. They all would like to come back. It was a quiet area. Vey close to Dillard.
We enjoyed the convenience and location of the property. The babbling brook behind the home kept us on the back porch for most of our stay. Very. Relaxing! We would definitely rent again!
We absolutely loved the house and property! We couldn’t have asked for better hosts either. They have everything you could possibly want there. Listening to the two creeks on the back porch was our favorite. Thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us. We hope to come back sometime soon!!!
The pictures do not do justice, from the moment you arrive until you leave it’s a mountain paradise. You feel at peace and relaxed. Plenty of room at this beautiful home, the porches overlook the most beautiful sound and view of the creek and waterfall. All the appliances and utensils needed to entertain your entire family. From a Bonfire out in the yard overlooking the creek to the deck grilling or roasting marshmallows. Truly a hidden gem ♥️
We had a wonderful time staying in this wonderful home! Our favorite part of this home was spending the afternoon and evening on the back porch enjoying the warm sun and cool mountain breezes while listening to the relaxing creeks that run down the mountain behind the house! Another great feature of this vacation rental is how centrally located it is to all the fun things to do in the area! Close to some great hiking and beautiful waterfalls. We loved the mountain coaster at Scaly Mountain and the zip line at Highlands Aerial Park both of which are about 10-15 minutes from the house. We also enjoyed shopping and eating in downtown Clayton (about 10 minutes drive into GA)! My youngest especially loved gem mining up in Franklin, NC (about a 20 minute drive). It was a fantastic spring break and we can’t wait to come back and explore Highlands and Cashiers, NC next! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us and we look forward to a return trip in the future!
