"The resort was exactly as expected and more! Loved the vibe of our non-luxury suite, walking out to our outdoor patio for coffee, relaxing on a bed by the pool, so many beautiful plants, birds, and a beautiful iguana “Iggy” who loved sunning himself in the afternoon! The restaurants, bars, beach area and the little shop by the beach area were great! But the best part of our entire stay was the staff! Everyone and I mean everyone was kind, welcoming, engaged in conversations and were always hoping we were enjoying our stay. The front desk staff were always helpful, especially Mayron who went above and beyond to get my husbands cell phone back to him after we realized when we were at the airport that it was left behind! And the maid that cleaned our room every day, she was always bright and cheery and always did an excellent job!! We have traveled a great deal. Many resorts aim to please and are polite. But we could definitely say the people at the Kontiki were authentic and genuinely kind! We could not ask for a better place to stay and will definitely come back and recommend to others!!!! 💗💗💗"

"Hire more employees to get guests checked in. We had to wait an hour and 20 minutes after the check-in time of 4 PM to get into our room."

"I loved my stay at this hotel. I was alone and felt safe and liked the small property size. Staff were wonderful..Edgar was the 1st to greet me at check in and was a bright and wonderful person that was there for any questions i had! . Room was small but perfect for me! I was so happy ti see how clean it was ( the whole hotel was!) Wifi was great throughout the property. Pool was fabulous- clean and had the best and most comfortable lounge chairs! Loved Emmanuel- sweetest man keeping the pool area clean!!❤️ Food was limited to buffet type breakfast and some lunch options up to 2pm. I tried a few things - all were delicious and fresh!! I wish they offered same options after 2pm. **Just across the street is a beautiful area with lots of restaurants and great food - so everything worked out great!! * only one mirror in bathroom with no power socket to dry hair.... so i had to do it in bedroom with no mirror... small issue - no big deal! I feel I found my " home" in Curacao when I return! I used to stay at expensive resorts...not any more! The Freedom Hotel will be my 1st choice in accommodations! ❤️THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF! "Overall, the property is well-maintained. Buffet has lots of international offerings, but the quality is ok. When booking restaurants on premises, the food portions are extremely small. Even with a party of 6, at the barbecue they served us one plate, that's all you could get. It came with one 1/4 piece of corn on the cob, 6 ribs. Requests for more were always acknowledged but never delivered. Lost hot water for several days in the rooms. Bartenders, hit or miss, some were very attentive when tipped, others were more interested in joking with each other, and often I or others were ignored. In one case, a couple sitting at the pool bar asked if they could get some service; they were told to get up and wait in line, then mocked by all the bartenders. Management was non-existent; it seemed most bars were managed by young adults who were more interested in serving locals on day passes than the full-paying guests. Suggest that a review of management practices, with more management on site to see guest experiences. Sad that none of the couples we traveled with will be back or recommend to others. This is a short list. If I owned this hotel, I would be horrified at what is happening."

"The property itself is very nice and beautifully designed. I booked an ocean-view room, which the view was absolutely stunning. I celebrated my birthday during my stay, and overall it was a great experience. The food at the property is excellent I took advantage of the five-course dining experience on the evening before of my birthday. One of the highlights of my stay was receiving a complimentary cabana on the day of my birthday, which made the celebration even more special. It was a wonderful touch and I really appreciated it. However, I did not like the fact that the room did not have an actual TV. Instead, there was only an iPad provided, which was not a feasible replacement for in-room entertainment. I do feel the property should offer more options for guests when it comes to entertainment. Overall, the atmosphere of the hotel was pleasant and the location was great. I would also like to highlight Remi and Riahna at the front desk, who were both very helpful and welcoming during our stay. Great customer service always makes a difference. I would definitely book again."
