Middling review for this property… it should have been five stars across the board, but two persistent issues prevented it. There was hair on the wall in the shower from the room’s previous occupant, and despite me mentioning it in my Expedia check-in survey, it never got addressed … EVEN THOUGH THE ROOM WAS CLEANED TWICE DURING MY 3-NIGHT STAY. Gross.
Secondly, the staff wasn’t terribly helpful. Having had a sore throat, I asked at the front desk one evening if they had any honey I could put in some tea. “No, we don’t have honey” came the immediate reply - despite the fact that 3 meters away was a fully-stocked bar that had closed five minutes earlier from which they definitely could have sourced some honey for a guest’s special request, had they taken the time to consider it. This is basic guest service for a high-end hotel.
This property seems to trade on reputation and attitude, but have forgotten the virtues of basic hospitality and customer service. While the property, rooms and public areas are very nice, and the price was reasonable, I was quite disappointed by the quality of guest service which was definitely below expectations.
