A key venue on Florida’s artistic scene for nearly 90 years, this is a cultural highlight far removed from the city’s theme parks and resorts.
Established back in the 1920s amidst the city’s burgeoning art scene, the Orlando Museum of Art is a cultural haven in the midst of this hectic destination in the Sunshine State. Showcasing works from all over the world dating as far back as the 18th century, the museum also offers a range of exciting exhibits that offer something for the whole family.
Among the permanent collections housed in the museum are classic American masterpieces as well as more contemporary pop art, not to mention striking textiles and crafts from Africa and beyond. Head for the Art of the Ancient Americas collection to see some of the impressive pre-colonial Aztec masks, Mayan figures and other artefacts on display.

Housed in a striking art deco style building at North Mills Avenue inside Loch Haven Park, the Orlando Museum of Art opens its doors every day but Monday and major holidays. The museum is just 10 minutes’ drive north from downtown Orlando, with free parking available on site as well as buses stopping locally.
