Check the cleanliness before you unpack
We were scheduled to stay in this vrbo until the day before we were made aware it had bed bugs. It's no wonder why after seeing the lack of housekeeping done at these. Anyway we spent first night at 138 madeira lane. Place was beautiful and super clean. Night 2 we had to move to 178 hideaway beach lane. Long black hairs in the master shower and in the sheets that were never changed. Nothing done about this so we washed the sheets and bedding. Pool was filthy and basically this place needs a good deep clean.

We did try and accommodate the guests because of an issue at our condo. We offered them a 4 bedroom pool home in a similar resort - however it would be the first night in one home and the rest of the vacation at another home just a couple of hundred yards away. The first home is a really exclusive home and the guest did say they would have liked to stay at that home for the entire vacation. The second home is a really nice home also and is cleaned to they same high standard as the other home and by the same cleaners. We did address the pool even though it was not really dirty and I do not believe we had any cleaning issues - just someone who was dissapointed at not being allowed to stay at the other home

Bed bugs
We arrived around 11:30 pm, first thing we saw was a roach on the wall in the master bedroom that we had to kill. We settled in afterwards and put the kids to bed. Stayed up watching tv for a bit until we decided to go to bed and found a bug on the bed, when I lifted the sheets there were bugs on the bed. I looked it up and indeed they were bedbugs. I went over to the kids room started looking around the bed and found more bedbugs on the beds my kids were sleeping on. I took my kids laid them on the floor and called VRBO and because I didn’t have the insurance nothing could be done for me except my refund and go find a hotel on my own.

In 7 years of renting the condo this is the first instance of any type of pest problem. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness and our premier host standing. We received a call on the incident and 3am in the morning and immediately went to the unit. The extermination company believes it was a very resent contamination either caused by the guests or previous guests ( bedbugs are transported mainly in guest luggage) Being that all previous guests up-until this point gave 5 star rating and never mentioned any problem we have to assume it may have accrued within the last few days. The problem is now resolved at a very high expense and some items throw away. We are fortunate that all mattresses and box spring have protectors and we have no carpets in the entire unit.

We had a great stay. The only thing I wasn’t aware of is that it was a second floor unit with no elevator. It was a bit difficult with our elderly parent.

The condo was very cute and clean, it had everything we needed in the kitchen although I wish it would’ve had an air fryer lol. The location was very nice and very quiet. The pools were very clean. The Jacuzzis were good and hot. Loved seeing the crocodiles in the lakes. The property manager responded quickly.

Beautiful resort and condo
Very clean and well stocked with the extras you may forget like coffee filters and pool toys. The decor was beautiful and well maintained. While we were out something caused the AC to stop working. One call to Paul, the owner, and he had a repairman there quickly and it turned out that a fuse flipped. He called to check on it too. Great vacation and we will be back!

Quiet peaceful complex
Very clean, everything worked and looked nice, pretty views on the huge back screened in porch, lots of shade if you want to sleep in from the master bedroom with all the beautiful huge oak trees. I would definitely recommend the condo to family and friends.

We love Bahama Bay!
We come to Davenport for an adult baseball tournament, held at a park very near Bahama Bay. The location is perfect, and we loved our unit this year. Really nice!

Honeymoon stay
My Husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon. The condo is a good location and the resort is nice as well. We enjoyed being close to the pool and hot tub. The condo had a smell. It smells as if there was water damage. Our luggage still smells and it has been a few weeks since we have been home. The bathrooms definitely need updated. The shower in the main bath drains very slowly and the whole bathroom gives off a grungy vibe. The carpets in the condo are absolutely disgusting and need replaced. The tv in the bedroom has no cable and you have to login to Hulu, Amazon, Netflix, ect to watch anything. The tv is also very small for how far away it is from the bed. Overall we had a nice stay but we would not come back to this condo. Also to add the resort has a raccoon problem.

The condo was perfect.One of the most beautifully decorated rentals that I have stayed in. Everything you need is provided. The property was beautiful. All the pools were a very short walk. I loved the screened in balcony… perfect for your morning coffee and your evening adult drink. I didn’t want to leave !!

Resort was super relaxing. Easy drive to disney parks away from busy traffic areas. Staff super friendly..lots of activities on the resort. Property owner was awesome. Easy to contact and quick to answer all our questions and resolve any issues with property. Was contacted the day of our arrival that dryer was broken but repair was going to take a few days..owner actually offered to have someone pick up our laundry to be dried for us...however, we didnt even need to avail of this as owner actually replaced the dryer instead of waiting for repair. Now thats service. Only negative was our safe didnt work but we weren't aware that the unit even had a safe so no big deal! Definitely would recommend this resort and condo!! We plan on returning in the future.

Our stay was fine. Loved the nature trail. The condo was adequate for our needs. We appreciated the beach towels and toys. Needed checkout instructions. Drain in second bathroom was slow. The table set on our arrival was helpful for the overall ambiance of the place. We loved sitting on the lanai. We needed a channel guide for the TV! we couldn't find all the Basketball channels for March Madness.

It is disappointing that the guest was not happy with our unit. I'm sure they would have noticed that we have stored LVT flooring under the master bed. That flooring will be installed next week to match the flooring already installed in the living areas. We also have new vanity and toilet ready to install when we have a break in our bookings.

Bahama bay condo was a wonderful place to stay. It was clean nice bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and going to therapy dining area. All very nice to spend a week. Happy to have walking paths, multiple pools, and a spa. Owner was easy to work with. We hope to stay again for a longer period of time.

We booked this property for our Disney trip. The place was nicely decorated and the resort had many great amenities. The property manager was very responsive when we had questions. On our days off from Disney, we enjoyed several of the pools and walking trails. We will be back.

The condo was lovely and very clean. Super fast growing area. Close to AK and. A little further for other resorts. You can avoid I-4 which is a plus. Lots of amenities in apartment. Only trouble we encountered was th washer did not dis pose of water so we he’d to squeeze dry everything and find a laundromat. I’m sure they would be able to fix the next morning. Other problem was drawer front coming off in my hands. A little glue and some nails should fix. Cast was pleasant. Bring iPods. The teens were out bouncing their basketballs every day swearing up a stir. Not good for young ears. All in all a nice experience

Great Value! Nice house, lots of space and well-kept resort.
A friend of mine and I stayed a couple nights and enjoyed the house thoroughly! So much better than cramming into a hotel room and sharing a bathroom. LOVE the outdoor veranda space, this house had double of most, the house itself was well kept, fully furnished and upgraded throughout. The resort itself is nice and they had a bar and restaurant on site with 50% off drinks and food for happy hour - nice perk. If you're deciding between a hotel and this house, hands down pick the house. It was accessible and easy check in as the owner sent me everything prior, so I didn't even need to go to the front desk!

We enjoyed our stay at Bahama Bay! Comfy beds, clean and great location near Disney. The complex was safe and lots of fun for our family to swim, play and enjoy. Host was accommodating and was great with communication. We would stay again and recommend this spot!
