"We arrived Saturday AM to Rockford for a soccer tournament and our morning game was canceled at the last minute. Maria was amazing and let us check in early rather than make us wait until 3pm. It was a life saver!"
"I would not recommend this hotel. I checked in on March 15 and left immediately after seeing the condition of the room.
The bed was dirty with hair on it, there were ants in the bathroom, and it was obvious the room had not been properly cleaned. On top of that, some of the outlets didn’t work. The entire room felt unsanitary and uncomfortable.
I went to the front desk right away to cancel, and they told me they couldn’t switch my room and that I would need to dispute the charge with my bank.
I ended up leaving that same night and booking somewhere else. I did not stay here at all. The staff was absolutely horrible.
Very disappointing experience."
Riverview Inn & Suites, an Ascend Collection Hotel
6/10 Okay
"The staff is friendly and check in was easy. The renovated rooms are nice and I felt like they were clean. There was some wear and tear on some of the furniture. There was a coffee maker but no water to use in it. No vending machines on the floors to buy water. The breakfast however was awful. No juices, sausage was totally out. There were biscuits but no butter. Potatoes were not good. There was some kids yogurt and some cereal.. A gallon of milk. Needless to say, we didn't eat it and we left. Worst breakfast I have had in a hotel ever. So we paid 30 bucks to get breakfast somewhere else. Luckily, we were only there a night. The elevator needed major cosmetic work. The outside of it had paint peeling off. There is a lot easy maintenance that could go on but hasn't. Didn't use the pool so unsure how that area was. Overall it was ok but alot of money for what we got. Wont book again. "
"Room was very clean and upgraded. Check in was easy and the gal at the front desk was extra attentive--she noticed a colleague had assigned me a connecting room even though i was travelling alone. She changed it.
Breakfast only available until 9am on Sunday was a bummer. So were the kids playing ball in the hallway at 8am.
No safe in room...wish there was for my ipad.
Close to the casino but no obnoxious rowdy guests. No pets allowed, which is a plus. Pool and business center looked nice."
"There was a smoke alarm going off close to my room and the woman who checked me in was determined to find the smoke alarm which was beeping upon my check in.
We found it together, She was very friendly and wanted to solve the problem."
