Beautiful wooded property. Enjoyable putdoor activities on site. Perfect place for infants to great grandparents to enjoy each other. Spacious. Comfortable. Relaxing. Host was very helpful with any questions I had.

Nice place for a quiet family get away.
Nice place for a quiet family get away. Very remote, we saw a bunch of turkeys and other wild life, and could hear coyotes howling in the distance. The firepit/play set area was great for both adults and kids. Plenty of space for a large family.

Family Vacation
There were 13 in our group. The cabin is spacious and the kitchen features a large gathering table. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen and extra table to put on covered deck. All the kids ate on the deck. We enjoyed the woods and peaceful setting The kids loved playing on the property and in the nearby creek. The guys went fishing on the river and we had camp fires in the evenings. There is an extra charge if you use their firewood. We brought our own. This is a great place if you just want to relax and enjoy family time and nature. Suggestions would be more thorough cleaning. Mattresses need replaced and mattress protectors washed.

Budget friendly stay
If you’re looking for a low budget/good enough stay. Obviously nothing fancy as you can see from the pictures but had everything we needed for the stay. The large property with firepit, yard games, balcony with grill, and nearby lake and river are great. The biggest negative for me was the cleanliness - it’s an old place with some broken things. This is definitely a bare minimum place- there is no washer and dryer, no dishwasher, you have to bring all your own bedding and towels (which can be inconvenient for a large party). Wonderful weekend
Lodge was spacious in all areas, kitchwn, living room, deck, outdoors, plenty bedrooms and rest rooms. Fully stocked ( kitchen utensils) for a crowd, down to having dish towels available ( although we brought our own). Family enjoyed fishing and tubkng nearby.

Camp was wonderful! This is a great house with a kind owner. There is so much space to accommodate a large group but also cozy enough for a smaller group. This was our second stay here and we have plans to return next year. Check in is easy. The owner provides you with area info and has the vet phone number posted in case you bring a fur baby that needs help. Nearby mountains are beautiful. Wildlife sightings are common. People in town are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed campfires, walks, horseshoes and more. Nearby Raystown lake is beautiful.

Weekend Away
Stayed here for a weekend away with two other families. Plenty of space and very old-school vibe. Location was great, although teens weren’t thrilled with not having cell service or Wi-Fi. Last day there, owner mowed the lawn while we were still checked in and outside playing yard games, which was disappointing (especially for those of us with bad allergies), but over wise, great weekend away to unplug.

Perfect for kids
We stayed here with 2 other families; there was a total of 6 adults and 6 kids under 4. Typically it’s challenging to get a VRBO that is toddler friendly since they have so much energy and can be destructive. But this place was perfect! The kids loved the swing set and there was even a big tub of toys at the house that the kids enjoyed playing with. There were not a lot of breakable decorations or trinkets so we weren’t nervous about the kids messing things up. The living room was a great size for them to all play while it was raining with plenty of seating for the parents. There was a great long table that sat all of us for meals. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to make meals. The bedrooms were a great set up as well. We had one family in the basement where there was a room for kids and a room for the parents with a bathroom. Then upstairs there were four rooms and a bathroom so we just did each set of kids in the room across from their parents. The property is beautiful and we loved the drive there (though the road we took was unpaved in some sections and rather hilly.. would be hard in a manual car I would think). There were nice trails nearby that we were able to walk, including just the driveway! We had a lot of fun staying here and appreciated again how stress FREE it was staying at a VRBO with toddlers. Would love to return next year for round 2!

It was perfect for our big group. Plenty of space and the kids had a lot of space to run around outside. Only one thing I wish they had was a washer and dryer, the kids played hard and got dirty however we did find a laundry mat 15 minutes away. Otherwise it was perfect

A great Cabin experience
If you want to get away from it all and no cell phone service this is a great place to stay and have fun with family. We enjoyed relaxing, playing corn hole and card games and just fellowshiping together as a family. Cabin was great for the 11 of us who went having three bathrooms and 6 bedrooms was great and we hope to rent it again next year!!

Nice cabin in lovely location
We really enjoyed this roomy cabin with its well-stocked kitchen, spacious living area and fire pit out back. The private location was lovely. It was the perfect setting to spend time with family. Everything was as described. It would have been nice to have a washing machine and have some bedding provided, at least blankets. The owner communicated well and was workable. We would stay here again.

Accurate description
The hosts describes the house well. It definitely has pros and cons. I was not caught off guard with the cons I experienced. It is a Mountain house not a luxurious retreat home. Pros: It is a large space that is well isolated providing an opportunity to unplug. Great space for kids to play outside and make all the noise they wanted. Lots of space for many guests. The house is truly spacious. Cons: Could have been cleaner. Definitely warm in bedrooms at night, although the fans really helped. Basement and upstairs has a bit of musty smell (probably expected in a Mountain house). Bottom line, I would happily stay there again if I was looking for an opportunity to privately enjoy nature.

This is a beautiful house and very well maintained. The property was also beautiful and well maintained. We had a great vacation. I wish there was wifi and air-conditioning but was fine. I feel there should have atleast been a land line phone because there is no cell service.

A lovely place to stay.
When they say there is no connectivity there really is no connectivity so make sure you have saved the instructions to a notepad or something that you can access without needing connectivity in other words the code to the property needs to be written down somewhere. Be sure and bring large garbage can liners because they do not have a kitchen tall waist container that was a little difficult. We had a wonderful time and would love to stay there again.

A nice get -a -way from everything
The overview of the property is very accurate. No connection to anything, which was perfect. So do not be surprised when you have no WiFi. Quiet, fire pit, woods, corn hole, birds, deer and a nice house. Of course there are bugs on the outside, its the woods! Inside was good. Go here if remote is what you are looking for. Window A/C's worked perfectly with the floor fans, keeping the overall house a nice temp. If you can't stand life not being able to check in, the local town is ten minutes away. Quick grocery pick up with email check sitting in parking lot. My son's and I had a great weekend.

Perfect for a family staycation.
This house is isolated in the woods, but worked out perfectly for my family. We spent a lot of time outside near the fire pit and swing set. The house was rustic, but we had plenty of places to sleep and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals.

Unplug and remember what it's like to live life
This is a great place to get away. There is no cell service, WiFi, or cable tv. You get the chance to disconnect and enjoy what nature has to offer. Close enough to civilization yet far enough away. I gave a 4 star on cleanliness not because it wasn't clean but because it is in nature so you have to expect some critters. I highly recommend this place.

Getting away from it all...
Location was very private and secluded; a great spot for those who want to be "off the grid" for a few days. Nearest store is 10+ miles away so plan ahead for groceries and supplies for the first night. Pros: secluded, quiet and private Large eat in kitchen that was well stocked with pots/ pans/ cooking utensils/tableware/ glasses, spices etc. Fire pit and corn hole was a bonus Clean property with available firewood. Owner attentive to any questions/ needs and check in was a breeze. Cons: beds were very uncomfortable and need replacing. Furniture old and dated

Comfortable, quiet, but no cell service.
Zero cell service. You have to drive about 4 minutes to the top of the mountain to get cell service. Since there is also no WiFi, that means you are completely out of touch with the outside world. Be sure to bring cards, other games, some puzzles or crafts to stay entertained while in the house. There is a DVD and VCR, but the single TV in the house is not HD. It's an older tube TV. Decent sized, but don't plan on plugging in your Roku or FireStick (wouldn't work anyway without WiFi). I always load a few movies on my laptop, for the kids or for my wife and I to sit and watch at night, and then plug the laptop into one of the TV's at the house using an HDMI cable. That won't work with this TV. Just note that. Very nice house, pretty big, and good for 2 families with kids, maybe 3 families if they share beds and you don't have a ton of kids, or good for multiple couples. Tucked in the woods a little bit, so it's very secluded from any neighbors. Well kept and clean. Very cool deck on the second story out back overlooking the swing set and fire pit area. So parents can relax and still see the kids while they play outside. There's a queen bed listed, but we didn't see a queen bed anywhere in the house. My wife and I sleep in a queen at home and whenever we rent a house (this was our 3rd house rental through VRBO). So we settled for one of the Full beds. If you want a secluded setting, it is definitely that. Just note the zero cell service (for any carrier) and no WiFi.

Home in the Woods
The property had some definite benefits: large enough for our extended family, clean home, great patio & fire pit, 2 refrigerators, and a swing set sturdy enough for adults! However, we arrived on a very hot day (mid-90s) to discover only 2 air conditioners for the whole house. The main floor cooled well enough, but 3 of the 4 upstairs bedrooms were rather warm for sleeping. The fans did help a bit, though. Also, it would have been nice to have written directions for how to get places, especially since there's no cell service at the house itself.

Perfect house to enjoy a weekend...
An easy to get to house away from all distractions is exactly what I wanted for a weekend, and I was not disappointed! Yes you do not get any cell service but isn’t that what a mountain house should be?! The house was clean and the grounds are perfectl kept. The only thing I would suggest is maybe take better pictures of the house and grounds but the ones you have didn’t do the place any justice.

A step back in history
We had a room for each family and a table where we could all be seated. Air conditioning upstairs was not adequate on very humid days. Basement comfortable. No wifi was a drawback. We loved the in-the-woods feeling with mounts on wall. We made many family memories we will cherish.

My mother, cousin and I stayed here with my four children. We had so much space for ourselves and could have had many more. The house is large with a cabin like feel. The owner greeted me with a phone call before my stay. He was completely accessible via email, talk and text. He was very informative and willing to research any information I desired for the area. The home is secluded in the woods. You have privacy. There is a fire pit and wood is provided. The home includes activities for everyone from babies through adults. There are movies, bean bag toss games and more. My children loved the playground. My baby used the crib. It was such a relief to have one provided. My dogs enjoyed roaming the woods. A great deal of wildlife live in the area. The home was clean and charming. My family has already booked their next trip to this home.
