Added a propane gas pool heater, so YES the pool is heatable to a maximum of 82' (the high side of recommended rec pool temps) to take the chill off! This service is by request in advance with a per night surcharge and must be for length of stay (this is based on market pricing for propane gas, and can change at any time, both up and down, until added to a reservation). Fee subject to change due to incredibly high gas rates right now. Simply request the pool be heated any time after making the reservation and at least a week before check in so we can get it on before you arrive.

Summer 2023 is long gone. How about Fall or Winter? And definitely not too early for 2024! Its filling up fast too: 5 weeks gone already!

These homes are always full. We own Sapphire, right next door, 12BR, same layout. More of...more! Get two. 24 bedrooms. Why not?! Diamond (10BR) too. Side x side x side! Both were fully booked last summer and all the major holidays. Act quick! 

Emerald is a 12 bedroom family-friendly luxury beach home located directly on the beach in an exclusive, gated community with zero-entry pools. Handicapped accessible features. Elevators. Community firepit. The perfect vacation home for large groups, or small ones that like lots of space!

WIFI/Internet? You Bet! I recently installed a multinode Eero network. Mesh networking is the way to go for coverage in and around the house. Poolside to upper bedrooms, there's signal to be had! 

There are 3 beach side living rooms, one on each floor, in this home. Need a beverage? There are wet bars with mini-fridges and stand-alone ice-makers in the second and third floor living rooms so you can save yourself the trip down the stairs (or elevator!). Each floor also has its own washer and dryer because when you are on vacation why would you want to carry your clothes up and down the stairs (or in the elevator) more than you absolutely have to!?

In addition to the community pool, Emerald at the Cottages at Romar also has its own private, elevated dipping pool at living room level. Sit in your living room, watch your kids play in the pool outside, how cool is that!? Or enjoy that beverage overlooking the gulf!

And if 12 bedrooms is just a little too big for you, check out Diamond, a 10 bedroom home right next door, or any of our other wonderful family-owned homes. Emerald and Sapphire are identical 12 BR units, so if you want to sleep up to 88, well, that’d do it! Or over 115 in all 3! 

Please note that the Cottages at Romar neighborhood association has determined that no weddings or special events may be hosted in the property. This is applicable to our Jewels by the Sea. However, although you cannot host weddings or special events at the Diamond, Emerald, or Sapphire, you certainly can stay there during your trip and enjoy these large homes, their luxury, and the terrific neighborhood amenities.

We have a number of smaller places as well, and also bigger: like taking 2 sides of a very nice duplex to get 20 (twenty!) bedrooms.

Since we have a higher proportion of guests recently who are new to vacation homes, I wanted to mention a few things that may be new to guests who normally stay in hotels or resorts rather than a private home so they are not surprised. As with most beach homes in the area, the local mgt co provide what they call a "starter supply" of soaps, toilet paper, and paper towels, etc. Enough for the first night to get you going! Please plan to bring or purchase additional supplies, and any cleaning or pantry supplies you may need, or to make a quick run to the store (or have it delivered!). You will want to bring beach towels or beach chairs as well. Because mgt cos will not generally support them, grills are not provided, except where specifically noted, though they are sometimes inherited from prior guests: your mileage may vary on this, and we usually assess and then go snag a small charcoal kettle when we come down ourselves. Also of note: at many locations, you may find the bunk beds (and certain other beds) are not fully made--instead a bedding pack is provided. This is a common practice for the local management companies, which is both green (if the bedding is not used, it doesn't have to be laundered) AND more sanitary--housekeeping does not have to crawl on the bunks and so on to make the beds. Also also... all our homes have drip coffee makers and most now have Keurigs as well.
