Diamond in the ruff…
Had such a great experience!! Our first time here.. certainly not our last… Stayed here 4 nights while attending “Under the big sky” music festival… this place was a perfect home base for us…not for everybody but if you don’t mind roughing it a little it’s perfect…fresh clean linens on our beds, bathroom/showers were also clean, hot showers… we brought our own but if you needed a towel, wash cloth or anything it was there.. back in the day it was a Girl Scout camp… the kitchen (mess hall) provided a fridge/freezer, pots/pans, utensils, fresh coffee/ coffee maker, running hot/cold water, etc… basically anything you needed, wanted or forgot, it was there… when we weren’t at festival we took the canoe out and did some fishing.. caught a bunch of pike and perch.. Not sure how he does it but Doug, the owner is one of the coolest guys we’ve met…so friendly, great conversations and recommendations.. we had a little glitch w/ the reservation when we first got there however Doug was more than accommodating and made adjustments without any issues for us… thank you so much Doug… If your an animal lover and missing ur pets, you’ll get a nice dose of furry love from “Gumbo and Bo” my new favorite kitten “bocephus”… Make sure you check out (by boat or car) Stillwater Bar/grill at the other end of the lake… great burgers/cold beers, awesome selection on the jukebox.. seriously though some of the coolest people in and out of town…can’t wait to get back!
