Old Al Ghanim Hotels, Doha

"Hotel is very well located being only 15mins drive away from Hamad International Airport. You can even catch the train from the airport to Umm Ghuwailina station and its 5 minute walk afterwards. All the staff at the hotel are very kind and courteous. Rooms are clean and well maintained by housekeeping. They even keep a copy of the Holy Qur'an and a prayer mat in the bedside draw which we have only ever found in a hotel in Saudi Arabia which was amazing. Rooms are equipped with a kettle alongside tea, coffee, and sugar/sweeteners which housekeeping replenish daily. Theres is an iron and ironboard which is very handy. They have a buffet for breakfast with an omlette station which we visited daily. Ala Carte for dinner apart from 2 days a week which they do a buffet consisting of a specific theme cuisine which alternates e.g asian theme/seafood theme etc. The Ala Carte menu has something for everyone. And the theme night all depends on personal preference e.g seafood night was not for us. Niel in the restaurent was always attentive and provided an excellent dining experience. Me and my wife both visited the Spa for a massage. We were greeted by Shariq who is very kind and friendly. Helped us pick the right treatment. Our masseuse was Umaimah. She gave us both probably one of the best massages we've ever had. She knew exactly what she was doing. Focused on areas that needed attention. There is a Mosque nearby. Marry Brown which is a chicken shop chain is nearby offers good value"

"We stayed at the The Ritz-Carlton Doha during our honeymoon and it was genuinely one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. The staff were exceptional from start to finish, from the warm welcome at check in to recognising and greeting us throughout our entire 2 day stay, which made everything feel incredibly personal and memorable. A special thank you to Hamza and Maryam, who were both absolutely exceptional and played a huge part in making our stay so memorable. Their kindness, professionalism and attention to detail truly stood out. They also went above and beyond to enhance our honeymoon stay by decorating our room with balloons and petals on the bed, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the experience even more special. The breakfast and facilities were phenomenal, the location was perfect, and the views of the Doha skyline were absolutely stunning. We also dined at B-Lounge Doha within the hotel and the food was absolutely delicious. Every part of the stay exceeded our expectations and we genuinely cannot wait to return."

"The property is very well located in Katata which is mid point to everything you would want to see in Doha, uber is the way to go in Doha as it’s dirt cheap and in the heat it’s much better than the metro or walking, as I don’t feel Doha is walkable! The hotel has a lovely private beach and pool which is well maintained. The temperature controller pool and the staff are lovely. Jane at the coral dining and Rashed our Housekeeper were friendly and very good! We had a 6 month old baby and the hotel were extremely accommodating. We came prepared with a collapsible bowl and Milton tablets to sterilise the bottles but when we found out we could get a sterilised they provided it, even a baby bath for the tub. The room was great with the sea view however the shower could have been much better. Overall great location, staff, and atmosphere!"
