Beautiful pub. Lovely room. Nice and quiet. The lady who cooked our breakfast and served us was so friendly (Julie I think) what a lovely friendly lady. Would stay again.

Lovely place would certainly stay her again.

The staff were extremely friendly but not 'over the top' it just seemed that was the way they always were with customers. The room was big and facilities good ie shower ensuite. Bed comfortable. Food good.

Ok hotel to stay for the price. Room was nice. Breakfast was poor in terms of selection and service, which let the hotel down overall.

A perfect New year's Eve stay

Amazing stay at The George , staff very friendly from the moment we entered the door , we stayed for NYE in room 6 , huge Bathroom , lovely furnishings and nice comfy Bed , we had a meal and the sirloin steak was perfect, best I've tasted in a long time , the new year's entertainment was a great Band and all the locals and the staff where so friendly and made for a lovely atmosphere. The staff where very hard working and we had a lovely Full English Breakfast before leaving .. we'll worth a visit.

Quiet, spaceous room which was very clean. The pub served delicious food and there is a fabulous little cafe next door. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back when visiting family again. Exceptional value for money with a good breakfast included. Only slight niggle is that the pillows were thin and not supportive. One is not enough and two is too much. Perhaps they could invest in firmer support pillows and the score for this hidden gem would be 10/10.

Nice place useless TV channels and late breakfast

Lovely country pub food expensive but nice breakfast in the week served to late a lot of contractors and 8am is 1.5 hours to late. Made us a bacon cob 1 night for us to have in the morning and ive got to say it was gorgeous but then nothing the next day. My worst gripe was the TV or lack of it no bbc itv etc my TV started at channel 16 and after a hard days graft just wanted to eat watch TV and sleep

Arrived at 7.20 pm, but by 7.30 the noise and vibration of the unannounced disco started and didn't finish until 12.03 am. The noise was so loud that even our bed was vibrating. Our Room 6 was immediately above the disco! Tried to change our room, but the woman we spoke to said that she would have to speak to the manager. She disappeared , but never returned. We then waited at the bar, but the disco was so loud we couldn't hold a proper conversation, no one came to serve us. We left the pub and returned at 11.20, ( We had wanted an early night in a quiet country Inn), and were promised faithfully, that it would stop in 5 minutes. We asked again whether we could change rooms. She turned to speak to presumably the manager, or the owner, who told her, 'No'. He didn't even bother to say sorry. 40 minutes later at just gone midnight disco stopped. Noise carried on with doors opening and closing and general noise from below. The room was cold and the bed was hard, and we were still awake at 4am, with a dog in the neighbouring bedroom barking and also presumably someone leaving before it got light! According to 2 other members of staff, we should have been warned about the disco being on. We said we wouldn't be staying for the next 2 nights as we couldn't risk being kept awake for another night. Expedia were almost impossible to get through to, but eventually we were told that The George Inn would not be letting us have any money back.

Breakfast started too late. Presumably there are quite a few guests who need to be on the road by 8.30. So I got no breakfast as I needed to be away by 7.30.

Lovely thatched hotel.

Great hotel with fabulous food. Only let down was the waiting staff who needed a bit of training. They didn’t tell us that 3 out of the 8 starters and 1 main course were unavailable until we tried unsuccessfully to order them. She also plonked the wine on the table but had forgotten to uncork it!! However the staff were all very lovely. We were in room nine and they was a really annoying noise in the plumbing system that went off every 90 seconds throughout the whole stay.
