"A lovely find hidden away off the main street. We only booked the room an hour before arriving but were made to feel very welcome by the young lady behind the bar. Breakfast was cooked by Phil and was delicious and he came out and had a lovely chat with us. I would highly recommend. "

"All of the staff are so friendly and welcoming. This is the third time we have stayed at the , " Duke of York". The rooms are always clean and well supplied and wonderfully quirky. The food is exquisite, good suppliers and a talented chef make any meal you order an absolute delight. The choice of beers and ciders definately hit the spot and are excellently kept. We will, without question, be looking to return for more stays regardless of the season because any time of year is great here."

"Staff were friendly, room is very outdated and had a strange smell. Beds were average, shower was good. Breakfast in the morning wasn’t fantastic, we paid £120 for one night stay with breakfast but not sure it’s quite worth that to be honest. Wouldn’t stay here again."

"The staff are very welcoming. The food was very nice and surprisingly not expensive. The bed was very comfortable. The internet was strong. All areas of the hotel seemed very clean. The only negative I can think of, is the carpet and the bathroom in the bedroom was a little dated but very clean. "
"The room was very large with a table and chairs for 4, travelling with a friend it was great to have all the extra space.
Location was excellent right next to Plymouth Hoe.
We were on the 10 floor and there is a restaurant above so you could hear cutlery and other things being dropped on the floor, but this stopped once the restaurant closed. The shower pressure on our floor was very low."
"I’ve been staying at the future inn for the past 9 years on a regular basis as me and my partner have family in Plymouth.. it’s always been our go to hotel however the recent years the carpets in whatever room we get given seem to be all stained and the beds are so bouncy, you’re woken up every-time someone moves.. it may be due a revamp but will still be our go to due to the ease of where it is, the friendliness of the hotel staff and the amenities available… overall a great stay. "
"The thermostats controlling the aircon/heaters were mounted directly in line with the heater outlets so that whenever the heater kicked in the thermostat immediately thought the room had reached the right temperature.
This comical setup had been installed in our bedroom and also my sister's room.
The name of the installers was, amazingly, printed on the units.
The hotel management would be well advised to get the installers back to correct the locations of the thermostats - at no cost to them.
Apart from this issue the hotel is a real treasure with a brilliant restaurant.
This was our second stay.
