Sail and explore the stunning Amalfi Coast and islands in Gulf of Naples. Wake up in a bustling marina with easy access to restaurants, bars and nightlife or to the gentle rocking of the boat at anchor in a secluded bay surrounded by crystal clear water.

Booking covers exclusive charter of the yacht, fuel and tender with outboard engine plus paddleboard and snorkelling gear. Skipper fee and marina fees are extra (when staying in port) - please message for details. It is free to stay at anchor.

Please note: I have access to a wide range of high quality sailing yachts and catamarans from trusted partners available on the Amalfi Coast and across the Mediterranean. Please drop me a message to discuss and start planning your perfect trip

Guest access
You will have exclusive access to this beautiful and spacious Beneteau Oceanis 38 sailboat. Accomodation comprises of 3 double cabins, a saloon, galley kitchen, 2 bathrooms and large outdoor cockpit area with swim platform and deck space. The skipper sleeps in the third cabin. When at anchor or moored offshore there are crewed dingy transfers ashore. To ensure a more comfortable experience and guarantee personal space I suggest a maximum of four guests.

Guests have free use of snorkelling gear, stand-up-paddleboard and dingy with outboard engine to explore sea caves, beaches and coves. Light spacious interior with personal touches. Each cabin is made up with fresh cotton sheets and towels and the boat is cleaned daily. Welcome drinks, fruit, bottled drinking water, tea & coffee and kitchen essentials are all included.

Other things to note
CHARTER GUIDE FOR GUESTS

Your skipper and host

We understand your skipper is an essential and integral part of your holiday and sailing experience. As well as keeping you safe and comfortable they are your host and guide; finding the perfect bay to drop anchor, helping with restaurant recommendations, sailing lessons and onshore activities to ensure you have an unforgettable holiday. All our skippers speak English and are carefully selected for their friendly, relaxed and professional approach and have been carefully trained.

Whilst on charter please include your skipper in your plans when eating on the yacht. All of the beach based restaurants along the coast will feed the skipper so you don’t need to worry. They either have a dedicated table or bring the skipper food on board whilst you eat ashoreIf eating ashore in the towns please leave 20 euros for your skipper or of course feel free to invite them to eat with you.

On arrival a comprehensive safety and orientation briefing will be given by the skipper. You are required to comply with the requirements of this safety briefing throughout the course of the charter. Whilst it is agreed the guests may determine the general movements and destination of the yacht it is understood that the skipper is in full command and the guests must agree to abide by his judgement regarding safety, sailing weather conditions and anchorages. Whilst I would like to provide accessibility for all persons, the nature of a sailing holiday and the use of a dinghy for transfers ashore make it unsafe for someone with mobility difficulties.

Tipping

At the end of your trip it is customary to tip your skipper 12-15% of the charter fee assuming you have been happy with them and the service. Tipping at restaurants along the Amalfi Coast is welcomed and at your discretion (recommended 10-15% when not included on the bill).

Food and Drink

In addition to its stunning visual beauty and warm hospitality one of the main attractions of this part of Italy is the excellent local cuisine.

When you arrive the yacht will be stocked up with drinking water, soft drinks, wine, beer, aperol/prosecco and a fruit bowl.

Your yacht has a gas stove, fridge and small galley kitchen where you can prepare snacks and basic meals. It is a pleasure to provision the boat as you go with opportunities to pick up supplies along the coast. Amalfi has the widest selection with two supermarkets and a plethora of smaller shops where you can find fresh fruit and vegetables, local charcuterie, cheeses, snacks, sandwiches, pastries and cakes, plus wine, beer and spirits. There are also smaller supermarkets and local shops in Cetara, Minori, Positano and Nerano. Capri is very expensive without many options so best to provision beforehand.

Most guests choose to take advantage of the fantastic restaurants along the coast. Arriving by yacht at a restaurant/beach club and then being transported ashore to eat fresh seafood and local delicacies on the beach is a highlight that should not be missed.

Local favourites include:

Lido Degli Artisti (Amalfi) (lunch)

Zeffiro Sereno (Conca dei Marini) (lunch)

Conca del Sogno (Nerano) (lunch or dinner)

Il Cantuccio (Nerano) (lunch or dinner)

Each of the towns along the coast have a range of options for eating ashore for breakfast, lunch or dinner or even a quick snack in between. You will not be disappointed or go hungry. There are excellent; pasticcerias, pizzerias, gelaterias, family run trattorias, romantic options with stunning views and Michelin starred fine dining restaurants. Ted or your skipper will be happy to help with recommendations.

Marinas

When staying in a marina the yacht is secured to land, more stable and allows you to step on/off without the need for dingy transfers ashore. It also allows the skipper to remove rubbish, wash the decks and fill up the tanks with fresh water. If you suffer or are concerned about sea sickness it is recommended you stay in a marina each evening. There are two main marinas along the Amalfi Coast. These should be booked at least a week in advance. Please ask Ted who will be happy to help

Amalfi (Marina Coppola)

Charming marina in the heart of Amalfi Coast providing easy access to the historic town and providing an excellent base to visit Ravello (by taxi or bus) or hike the Path of Gods (taxi) or Valle delle Ferriere (walk from the town)

Marina fees are payable in cash direct to the harbourmaster Giulio on departure. Oh Susannah = 160 EUR and Folie = 170-180 EUR.

Cetara

Experience the more authentic side of the Amalfi Coast in this small fishing harbour famous for its tuna and anchovies.

Marina fees payable by card or cash on departure

Oh Susannah = 80 EUR Folie = 90 EUR

Anchoring/Mooring Ball

Staying on the anchor or a mooring ball provides you the flexibility to spend the night in a secluded bay or off one of the towns/villages along the coast without a marina such as Positano, Nerano or Capri. Anchoring is free and a mooring ball ranges from 50 EUR in Nerano to 100 EUR in Positano with water taxi service included. It is important to note the yacht will move around a bit depending on the sea state and passing traffic.

When at anchor your skipper will be able to assist with dingy transfers until 10pm. If returning later than this you will require a water taxi (available in Positano, Nerano and Capri).

Comfort on board

Modern sailing yachts have become increasingly spacious and comfortable over recent years but it is important to set expectations; a yacht cannot compete with a hotel room. We do everything to make your sailing experience as comfortable as possible from the moment you arrive. A useful comparison is staying on a floating RV or high spec caravan. Most guests agree that the adventure, freedom and unparalleled views are well worth the lack of a stand up shower and walk around bed during your time on board.

There are two bathrooms on Folie and one on Oh Susannah each with a shower. Each yacht also has a deck shower for rinsing off after swimming. There are 3 speed fans in each cabin and Oh Susannah has air conditioning in the saloon when moored in a marina.

Please pack in a soft hold-all that can be stowed easily rather than a rigid suitcase with wheels. To ask any questions please get in touch :)

Electronics

There are USB charging points for charging phones in each cabin and the saloon. When the yacht is moored in a marina there is 220V power allowing you to charge larger items such as cameras and laptops. There is no WIFI but very good 4g signal along the Amalfi Coast with the exception of a few blind spots.

For those looking to disconnect, unplug and unwind the yacht provides the perfect space for a digital detox retreat – speak to Ted to plan!

Sea Sickness

The Amalfi Coast is open without much shelter and the heavy marine traffic does cause the sea to become agitated. This calms down at night.

Good tips for avoiding sea sickness – take pills as a preventative measure before departing and in the morning each day if you suffer. Spend time above deck and off your phone. The small distances mean there are always opportunities to get ashore where you will feel much better. Initial sea sickness usually improves after the first day onboard so stay positive and be sure to let your skipper know how you are doing.

Swimming/ paddle-boarding and Dingy transfers

Please take extra care when getting on and off the yacht and into the dingy. If you are not comfortable always stay on the yacht. It is always possible for the restaurants to provide a food/drink service onboard. When swimming take particular care of other boats, make sure you are visible.
