Room was mostly clean, lock in door was broken, towels were old and dirty looking. Beds were ok but needed turning. Most of the staff were great with exception to one young gal who had an attitude from the start…..not sure why??? Pool area was clean and hot tub was great.

The shower/tub had this mat in the bottom that was not removable, it was black around the edges. The bathroom floor tile needs to be replaced. It was chipped, black and lifting at the edges causing my husband to cut his foot on it. The room was clean and bed comfortable.

The best thing about the Colonial Inn is the location. It's in the perfect spot for exploring Ogunquit, and you can walk anywhere (downtown, the beach and the Marginal Mile). And there are some good features about the property -- the continental breakfast is solid, and you can eat on the wraparound porch...and there's a nice fire pit. However, we stayed in a 2 queen room in one of the outer buildings, and it was basically a glorified motel room. It's clean. And functional. But that's about it -- which is fine, except when you book an "historic" inn, you expect a certain level of charm, which is very much lacking. It's an average place that seems entirely overpriced. So stay for the location...but not for any sense of Maine history.
