"Absolutely wonderful service! From the moment we got out of our taxi to the moment we got on the bus to leave, the people who run the place where amazingly welcoming! They got out into the snow to greet us and instantly warmed us with a cup of tea in the anteroom. They attended to our every need, and when they heard that we hadn't had dinner, they insisted on cooking us a small meal for free even though as a business, the place doesn't offer any meal service. And when we left they gave us small...

Your room includes a breakfast and dinner buffetes and most people wear the colorful yukata provided by the hotel. The property is a bit out of date but the public bath is quite nice. Transportation into the city is limited and taxi is about $20 USD"

Top Oguni-numa Pond Hotel Reviews

Toyoko Inn Aizuwakamatsu Ekimae

8/10 Good

"Staff were excellent. Very friendly and were excited to promote Aizuwakamatsu and the Fukushima mascot, Akabeko. Helped me by moving me to a non-smoking room after I had mistakenly booked a smoking room. Breakfast was okay, and free. Parking is on-site via a mechanical tower. One elevator for 11 floors - the elevator is often crowded, with a queue sometimes. My only problem was that the rooms are not soundproofed, the other guests on my floor were extremely noisy and could be heard through the walls and shouting in the corridoor."

Kutsurogijuku Shintaki

10/10 Excellent

"The food and location are spectacular, we loved it!"

Urabandai Lake Resort

8/10 Good

"Overall pretty good resort that is unfortunately showing its age. Our room was rather small for a family style room (comparatively to other ryokans we stayed at for a similar price point) but very clean. Beautiful location but very remote if you don’t have a car. Shuttles to and from Inawashiro station made it easy to take day trips to other areas. Most of the resort’s amenities were also not open during our stay too. The resort supposedly has multiple restaurants but only two were open while we were there. The outdoor onsen is quite nice as well."

Aizuwakamatsu Washington Hotel

8/10 Good

"This was a nice hotel located very close to aizuwakamatsu station. It was dated- the bathroom was clean, but had a kind of old smell. The air conditioning didn’t work well, but it was cool enough to open the window. There were no laundry facilities, but there was a coin laundry pretty close by. We were given drink vouchers for each night’s stay but we didn’t use them because we felt underdressed for the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and helpful- we transferred luggage and they were very helpful with that. Close to a 7-eleven and restaurants were nearby. Overall a nice stay and would stay again if going to the Aizu area."
