Peaceful and everything you would need

A nice getaway cabin
We recently spent two cold, windy and rainy nights at the red cabin on the shore of the St.Lawrence River outside Ogdensburg, NY. Despite the inclement weather, we were warm and comfortable inside and thoroughly enjoyed the quiet intimacy. The only drawback was the lack of TV and Internet to allow us to monitor the progress of the early spring storm blowing outside. However, the caretaker said plans were in the works to provide TV and Internet services soon. During occasional breaks in the storm, we were able to get outside and stroll along the rocky shore and fish from the nice private dock. For the dedicated birder there was a wealth of both inland and shore birds flying about for close observation. All in all, it was a great place to visit and one that we can certainly recommend. We hope to return soon.

Beautiful Family Get-a-way
My family of 4 visited this cabin to see the Eclipse in April 2024. The property was clean (the sheets smelled amazing!) and comfortable. The property manager left eclipse glasses for us on the table, which was so thoughtful! The St Lawrence river is RIGHT at your doorstep. The sunsets are fantastic, the water is crystal clear. There are kayaks available. The kitchen has a keurig,as well as a regular drip coffee pot, toaster, and all the pots/pans/dishes/silverware that you will need. Because it was so cold, the owners took extra care to have electric heaters available to move about the rooms. They also had extra blankets on the shelves. There is a walmart and a price chopper (supermarket) within minutes of the property. The property manager and the owner were always available, and their response time was impeccable! If you are looking for a no frills, nice cabin to enjoy the area, this is the one you want!

Great stay overall
Overall we enjoyed the stay. Nice scenery including views of ships passing by. Nice dock for fishing, watching sunsets, or enjoying the action on the seaway. Plenty of free firewood and nice fire pit.

Everything isn't always perfect
We had a great time and would stay again. Ron was very helpful with the check-in process and expressed to call him anytime with any questions The coffee pot should be cleaned or replaced. The dishes could use a good washing and the utensils and tray were dirty. Other then that, it was clean. It's was a nice place, everything else was very clean. I have never seen cleaner sheets and bedding. The bathroom, shower and curtain were clean. The landscaping, sunsets, and river are beautiful!! Fire wood provided with a fire every night was relaxing. It was no problem not having a t.v. or wifi, and our phones worked fine through our carriers.

We Love This Rental!
My Husband was in town for a fishing trip, he had a great stay, perfect location, privacy, beautiful river frontage, cute, clean, well-maintained cabins. Gorgeous Sunsets! This was our 5th or 6th time renting this property and will be back in a few weeks! Highly recommend this rental!

I would stay here again. Loved the AC unit being on for us the first day since it was 90. Loved the closeness to the water sitting on the deck. some of the cleaning was sketchy with prints on light switches and streaks on frig. so what couldn’t I see? But I’m a germaphobe so I always look for those things. Kids had a ball playing on the shoreline and running around ( need water shoes!). Super cool I got to show them how to kayak- the little cove is perfect to keep them from going to far out. Great place for quality family time.

Wonderful retreat
This is our second stay at this river side spot, last time in the other cottage. We've been happy both times. Gorgeous view of the St. Lawrence, comfortable and clean cottage with a deck and dock. This year we took the kayaks out. We plan to return!

We Love This Property!
We Love this Property & Cabins! This is our 5th year booking these rentals. The Cabins are so cute and clean, the property is Amazing, Beautiful, Private, Gorgeous River Views & Frontage, Stunning Sunrises and Sunsets, we fully enjoy the Huge Firepit that is always so generously stocked with wood. But what is most important to us is is that it is Pet Friendly! I think our Dogs love it as much as we do! Hopefully we will return every summer! Thank you for having us!

River paradise
We had a dj gig until about 10 the night of our stay but there was plenty of wood and a great fire pit for us to have a campfire, we were able to stare at stars off the deck, and enjoy a riverside evening, the cabin was cozy but had more room than we had anticipated which was awesome, we definitely want to return again with the children next time!! Everything is provided you just bring the food, your toiletries, your clothes and yourself and you’re all set there’s even a keurig machine and regular coffee pot and the past renters have left plenty of regular coffee in case you forget, and checking in and easy was so easy the property manager was amazing with giving us directions and a picture of the sign out in the main road when you get to the camps and was very easy to talk to!!

Clean camp, nice waterfront
My family rented this camp and the camp right next door to this one and it was a great stay. The camps were very clean. We enjoyed having both camps so we could enjoy the whole riverfront by ourselves rather than have another family we didn't know staying so close. The camps are very close together. There is no WiFi, so that was one of the only downfalls to this vacation rental. This is a place you go to if you can unplug and not need to work remotely or use WiFi for anything. The water was very low during our stay, so we were not able to pull a boat up to the dock. Overall, really fun experience. Checking in and out was very smooth.

This was our second time back here, and the cabin was much cleaner the last time. The front of the refrigerator was covered with dirty fingerprints, and the quilt in the bedroom was covered in dog hair.

Amazing! We Loved This Rental Property!
We Love this Rental Property! This is our 3rd Summer in a row renting these cabins, I can not say enough positive comments regarding this Amazing Property! First it is always a pleasure to deal with and communicate with Amy and Ron, they could not be nicer or more accommodating. The cabins are always spotless & clean such a bonus this year that they put a portable AC unit in which was greatly needed! The Waterfront Property is amazing with hundreds of feet of shoreline, gorgeous river views, amazing sunrises and sunsets, private, Large property, Huge Firepit where we enjoyed fires every night weather permitting with the complementary wood they supply (which is an amazing perk, no rental ever does that!) and the best of all it is Pet Friendly! We travel every where with our Dogs and they enjoy the property as much as we do! As I said we just love staying here and hope to return in the near future!!

I believe that was due to a blip in our VRBO set-up that we have resolved. I have also notified our local property manager and asked to have the AC inspected and replaced if necessary. The Red Cottage
This is the second year we rented this property. It is a beautiful setting on the water in the 1000 Island region. No issues with anything at the cottage. From making reservations to checking in, it was a very smooth process. Amy was very prompt with getting back with any questions or concerns and Ron was always available if needed.. We loved the cabin. It had a very nice view. Very relaxing.. Ron was absolutely nice to us. Concerns was the neighborhood dog was loose and kept coming onto our area. Our small dog was tied up and near us.. was concern about my dog. Plus the cabin was very nice and cleaned but the outside too much goose dropping. We had a great time. Thank you

Cute little cabin with amazing views
Came up for a short 3 night stay and this was the perfect spot. The weather didn't hold up but if it were nice there is a cute little porch and a dock right to the water. On the inside the kitchen is simple but has everything you need (even a keurig if you're into that!) The only downer was that there was no wifi, which I didn't realize at booking but you get enough cell signal to check some things. Highly recommend for a nice relaxing stay.

The perfect quiet retreat to take in all the St. Lawrence River has to offer.
Our week long experience began everday with coffee on the porch and watching mother geeses and ducks care for their ducklings and gooslying. Mid-day swimming in the river was exciting catching the big waves of the ships passing. The days ended with our family favorite toasted marshmallows and s'mores by the campfire!

Not clean as pictured.. walked in and left!! They kept all the money still
My husband and I realize the risk when you book homes on here and how pictures can be deceiving! We walked and it was honestly not clean! I own a cleaning company I would know. The sofa looked lived in, would need a sheet to even sit down. There was no cell service in the house. The bathroom sink was leaking and the owner claimed it had just been mopped. Like I previously stated I own a cleaning company and that was not wet from being mopped. The property had a foul smell to it as well. The rest of the floor was sticky... so how could it of been freshly mopped?!?? Sent a message that something was leaking in bathroom and we unfortunately would be finding someplace else... I even stated I knew a full refund wouldn’t be an option but maybe a partial refund?? NOT ONE DOLLAR BACK! They clearly needed the money more than we did...

Kate, We are still extremely confused about what occurred when you arrived at the property. Within 15 minutes of your email to me (I wish you had called one of the 3 phone #s we gave you), our local property manager and the manager of the professional cleaning company who had just left the property - arrived to inspect and meet you. Your first two messages only mentioned that you found a leak in the bathroom and that is why you left. We always have a professional cleaning company clean and disinfect between renters. Luckily I saw your email within 3 minutes of your sending it and made emergency calls to rectify any situation. Unfortunately, you had already left. The property was inspected and none of these issues was found. No leaks, no wet floors, the unit was clean, etc. We had asked in our immediate reply that you remain or return to the property so that we could help you, but you only sent an email reply to state you had left and were not returning. We also had a second cabin next door that we could have put you into immediately - which I also offered. We did not have any idea why you arrived and left immediately. As you are now mentioning the cell coverage for your phone, perhaps you noticed that you had no cell coverage and this would not work for you? We are always more than happy to refund if someone has a true reason for cancellation (cell coverage is not under our control and not a reason for refund) and we will always take immediate action to correct any issues our renters are having. Thank you.

Family Get-Away
We found the cabin and grounds in very good condition. Other than the neighboring cabin, the area was extremely private and beautiful. Access to kayaks and canoe made for lots of water fun, and my daughter really enjoyed swimming in the cove. There was only one life jacket at first, but two more were provided when we asked. The kitchen was generally well supplied with dinnerware and good appliances, while the shower provided endless hot water (essential when you have a teenage girl!!). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

Everything at the house was great!! It was CLEAN. Which is very important! Ron was super helpful with any questions we had and accommodating if we needed anything. We did not because it was all done beforehand! I do not know anything about the brown house but the red one seems to have more outside space. Would definately rent again!!

Beautiful riverfront cabin
This property is amazing. Beautiful river views. Great place to relax in the hammocks, on the dock or have fun in the kayak and canoe. The cabin itself is very nice with plenty of room for a large family. Clean and very well stocked with everything you need.
