"We are a family of 5 with 3 kids under 12. We visited in March and it was very quiet/serene. Portovella has a beautiful view of the Douro. Riverside walk is just several steps down a hill. Photos don’t do it justice because it is so breathtaking in person. The comfort suite was the perfect size with 2 bathroom ensuites and a powder room. View from the suite was incredible. Just plan ahead if you’re staying on a Sunday as many restaurants were closed but we found a gem in Cinfaes - Sabores e Memorias where husband and wife cook for you and welcome you in. The pool was not yet open unfortunately since it was March but would have been an incredible view. There’s also a kids playground set which helps for the little ones and a small little fish pond. The property has beautiful lemon and orange trees. A full and delicious warm breakfast was served directly to your door. A very peaceful stay! Highly recommend."

"We had such a lovely stay in this location, it was just perfect. Everything we needed was provided, it was a very cosy and quiet location but with supermarkets and car charging points within a ten minute drive. Perfectly clean, good coffee machine, fast internet and nice kitchen. Thank you very much :)"

"Brilliant small villa for family of 4. The outdoor kitchen is the best we’ve had in any villa. Pool is lovely and lots of little touches make this a very relaxing and enjoyable place to stay. Also very useful to have the train station 3 min walk away. From here you can go into Porto or the Duoro valley. I’m sure we’ll be back and will recommend to others."

"We had a great time at this property. It was very modern, very clean and had everything needed for the perfect few days. I wish we stayed longer! The pool was great too! Other reviews mentioned the villa next door - it is connected but there were not any guests so it did not affect our stay. "

"I would use the word "Exceptionnel" for this stay. The chalet was almost new, everything was well done, functional, well equipped and decorated with a lot of taste. As the place is a bit remote, the environment is also very calm and relaxing. Would return any time."
