What an incredible stay at this bothy! From the very start, communication was excellent; everything was clear, friendly, and easy to follow, which made the arrival process a breeze, despite the remote location.
The bothy itself is beautifully set up with simple but very comfortable décor, a thoughtfully snug layout, and a well-equipped kitchenette. The bed is comfy, the space was perfectly clean, and everything felt well-maintained. Just a heads-up: if you’re arriving late, be sure to stock up on basics on your way in, as this place is wonderfully remote. However, the local Inn is under a 5 minute walk away for lunch or an evening meal on the waterside, and the ground coffee and French press were a welcome touch in the morning.
I was here on a work trip, so I’ll mention that the light from the window above the main door comes through quite early, so if you're sensitive, an eye mask might help. That said, if you’re on holiday, waking up gently with the morning light feels like a gift, not a problem.
The location is the pièce de résistance, truly breathtaking. Right on the edge of the loch, nestled in peaceful surroundings and nature, it was impossible not to unwind (even if it was just moments between working on my laptop; Wi-Fi and phone signal were both great). I went for a swim in the loch the evening I arrived, and it was the perfect way to decompress and immediately slip into a slower, more grounded rhythm.
I would highly recommend this Bothy if you're looking for a remote Highland escape with all the self-catering comforts thoughtfully covered. I'd return in a heartbeat for leisure, to take time to walk and absorb the magical landscape.
