Sunny Spacious House in Vibrant Berkeley/Oakland Rockridge

Welcome to the Rockridge, one of the most vibrant areas in Oakland/Berkeley. Walk to BART to go to SF or take 7-min bus to UC Berkeley or simply dine at our neighborhood's great restaurants.

This sunny upstairs unit is about 1250 sq ft and it has two bedrooms, a family room with couch, and a large living room with queen sleeper sofa. The bathroom has been remodeled to cater to guests' needs. The house is tastefully decorated with new furniture and linen. Enjoy Keurig coffee or specialty tea in our cozy tea room. Cook if you like in the full kitchen with necessary cookwares and utensils. Free WiFi and laundry onsite. Free street parking or on-site parking for a small fee. Pets ($18/stay) are welcome.

Rockridge area is cozy neighborhood with many great intimate restaurants, bakeries, ice cream stores, a Trader Joe, Safeway, and several boutique stores. Walk a few blocks and you are in Elmwood, Berkeley, home of famous Claremont hotel. It has easy access to public transportation; BART (yellow line) takes you to downtown SF and San Francisco Airport, and 51B bus takes you to UC Berkeley (7-10 min).

Great location, clean house, easy checkin

This property is in a great spot if you’re visiting Berkeley. It’s bright, spacious, and easy to check in. The owner was super responsive and helpful. Would absolutely stay here again!

Great central location In Rockridge

Sunny spacious rooms on a busy street that felt like an oasis of peace. We had a great stay using kitchen some and eating out some as Rockridge is a foodie’s dream neighborhood.

Get location to explore the East Bay from

The property was as depicted in the photos. It was an excellent place for our adult daughter living in the area to join us. Our pooch, Rocco, was thrilled to be able to join us too!Quick walk to Safeway, coffee shops and restaurants. Short drive to the many museums and parks. Chris was responsive and welcomed suggestions. We would happily stay here again!

Nice clean upstairs flat in Rockridge

We really enjoyed our stay here, and since our main purpose was to visit our son and attend the Big Game, we also appreciated being right next to the bus stop where we could hop on for a short ride up College to Memorial stadium. Also nice to be really close to all of the great restaurants on College. Chris was a great communicator and we had no problems with anything during our stay

Light and Bright 2BR in Rockridge Near Everything

Can’t beat the location! Spacious 2BR was within walking distance shops and restaurants - plus BART. Comfy beds. We’ll equipped kitchen. Great spot for short or long stays. Ample street parking.

Walkable and welcoming

We enjoyed our stay! The location is great - there are many great restaurants, coffee shops, and stores within easy walking distance. Free street parking can be found nearby but keep in mind the occasional street cleaning day. The neighborhood was also nice to walk around during the day. The building was great and the accommodation comfortable. If you have the windows open expect some street noise which you'd expect from the area.

Spacious apartment, great light and location.

We really enjoyed this apartment and found it filled our needs in almost every way. The location was outstanding (near freeways, near great north Oakland/Berkeley neighborhoods). The bedrooms and fold out bed – including the door and privacy curtains in the living room - made for 3 nicely functional bedrooms. The kitchen, laundry room, breakfast nook: all great. Only critique: reading lamps! This made the fold out bedroom especially awkward (thankfully I had my headlamp for reading in bed). But there should be some lamps around both sofas and easy chairs. Otherwise, really great!!

Everything was Fantastic. It was extremely clean and spacious. we loved having a wsher/dryer. The neighborood is very safe and has a lot to offer interms of food, retail shopping. place is amazing! Fantastic !

Great location. Felt very safe. Walkable. Our host was easy to communicate with and very welcoming. Some upgrades needed - new towels, PILLOWS and more than 4 glasses. Appreciated all of the framed memos around the house. We obviously don't take a vacation to watch TV - but an explanation of how to make the darn thing work would be great. Would we stay again. Sure, but we would bring our own pillows, towels and glassware.

Perfect Location for Us

Chris' property was just what we needed for our visit to family in the area. A great location, a comfy apartment and easy to communicate with him. Plenty of life's necessities were on hand to make our stay comfortable. Plenty of shops, restaurants and cafés nearby as well.

Great Location, clean

Walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Plenty of street parking and allowed our pup to stay with us. Only negative was the wood floors that made it tricky to walk quietly with being on the second level.

Big, Comfortable Rockridge Neighborhood Home

My son and I loved staying at the Rockridge home, and really felt part of the neighborhood. The home is spacious, we loved being able to spread out. It has nice wood floors and multiple living spaces, comfortable beds, and a full size kitchen with everything we needed. I liked being able to look out west to the hillsides from the kitchen and my bedroom. The shower was strong and warm. Sunshine filled every room. While Claremont is busier during the day, it was quiet after 9 pm at night when the neighborhood went to sleep. Lots of free and easy street parking right out front. And walkable to grocery and coffee shops, with bonus of being just 5 minutes down the road from the Panoramic trailhead for our morning hikes. The owner Chris is kind and friendly and we highly recommend his home to future guests.

Convenient location in Oakland

The location was great. We felt the furniture could use an upgrade and better arrangement, and a few table lamps in the living area would be nice. The property was as pictured though and we enjoyed our stay :).

Very close to 5 stars!

House was very cute and in an awesome area. Everything was convenient to get to! Some feedback on how this could be a 5 star: please provide better tv cable options or smart tv, windows had cracks in them, little ants were present and the smoke detector was way to sensitive with there being 0 smoke and nothing on the stovetop. Overall we had a great time, very cozy and spacious!

Worked well for us

My sister and I stayed at this property for three weeks. The size of our second floor space was excellent and the host was very responsive. We had no problems with our stay of any kind and parked at a nearby street in this nice neighborhood. I wish there had been more lighting in the front two rooms and perhaps a few more comfortable chairs in those rooms as well.

Rockin’ Good Time in Rockridge

We really enjoyed staying at Chris’s house in Rockridge. The proximity to Berkeley and the BART station was ideal. We liked the layout of the house and the way Chris communicated with us so promptly on several occasions. We do think the house could use a few things: 1. Floor lamps by the couches so guests can read 2. A few more casual chairs and seating for six in the lovely breakfast nook 3. An upgrade for the towels All in all it was a very good experience!

Well located duplex in need of a little TLC

Pros: located within close walking distance of shops, restaurants, cafes and public transportation, responsive host, spacious, easy street parking. Cons: sparsely furnished (no floor lamps, only one bedside table), a few minor things were broken, very noisy traffic sounds from street, hardwood floors so lots of noises from the downstairs neighbours well into the night. If you are a light sleeper, be warned despite what the host may say.

Located in a busy street

The duplex is located on Claremont, which is a four lane busy and noisy road. The first two rooms have a couch and one tv. There are no lamps, just overhead lighting. The two bedrooms are spacious. The owner asked if we wanted parking for $9/day. This consisted of having to move my car four times (in and out of the driveway) in three days and receiving a text at 4:00 am asking me to move it so the downstairs tenant could park her bicycle. There was a side entrance so I wasn’t sure why couldn’t enter there. The door to the upstairs apartment did not close. We were asked to wear slippers so not to disturb renters below. Maybe consider area rugs in the living room areas to help with the squeaks in the floors. Probably wouldn’t rent again. Lots of choices in this area.

Worst experinece on VRBO - would not repeat

We stayed only one night of four night reservation. The house is depressing and feels uncared for. This is the worst VRBO booking we have ever had. The manager Chris was dismissive of our complaints and responded defensively. The property is described as "The house is tastefully decorated with new furniture and linen." and the that "the barthroom has been remodeled to cater to guests needs." Here is what we found. When we arrived the first thing we noticed is the lack of furniture in the main living room - there is a couch and two side chairs off in the corners- no coffee table and no carpet or area rug. It feels empty and unwelcoming. The central room is also almost empty of furniture - a couch against one wall, a coffee table and a wall table on the opposite wall. The bedrrom was dissapointing. The towels on the bed were frayed and the carpet was stained and dirty. The bathroom vanity was damaged and peeling on one side. The door to the bathroom felt like it would fall off in your hand. The linens and towels seem cheap and of low quality. The walls are dirty and the paint is peeling or damaged in many places. There are nail and hammer holes in some of the walls. There is very little in the way of decorations and what is there is haphazard. There is a picture on the wall in the kitchen with a damaged frame. Overall the place feels uncared for and neglected. Needless to say we would not stay there again.

Clean & Spacious

We only stayed one night but the property was clean and spacious in a safe area of Rockridge. Easy to park and lots of extra towels and blankets.
