Beautiful location!!

Gorgeous views, water access at Oak Bay. Cozy home with lots of windows. We had a great time here! You can hear the loons on the water at night. Very quiet and peaceful setting. Only a few minutes from Saint Stephen’s and Saint Andrew’s. Nearby attractions include Kingsbrae Gardens and the aquarium as well as Minister’s Island. Lots of local restaurants and shops. Two of the three bedrooms are upstairs in a loft and are only accessible by ladder. Driveway is steep and rutted so caution is advised.

My boys loved the place! The kayaks, fishing rod and fire pit were great. However the smell of pet urine and perfume covered the carpets. There was a film ontop of the carpets almost like a wax and we had to keep socks on. I see past guests said the same thing but the claims were dismissed as bad guests. The scent is a real problem, please change the flooring so guests can fully enjoy the experience.

Place was very cozy, love the water, getting to the 2 bedrooms upstairs was a little difficult..small ladder off hole in celiling. Light in kitchen didn’t work. We had to move table in living room to play games, etc because of lighting in dining room. Stove didn’t work properly, frying pans should be replace. But I love the quiet shore and property, life jackets and kayaks that were available…majority of our time was spent outside so I didn’t mind place. Owner of property, great communication. I would recommend it. We made the best of everything.

Our stay at this cottage was not as pleasant as others have said in their reviews of this Vrbo rental. The problem we were having was mainly with the interior living space of this unit, we stayed for 5 nights.Problem areas of this cottage:a permanent bad odor of pet urine on the carpets made our stay in this cottage very unpleasant.overall flooring issues of weakened floor areas that are covered with plywood (underneath carpets)overhead lighting issues in kitchen and bathroomaccess to the two loft bedrooms are through a retractable ladder (attic type ladder) which is very narrow to get up and down from the loft area.outside area of the cottage has a very steep slope to the go down to the bay (water area)Overall, we enjoyed the areas of St-Stephens (10 minutes away from the cottage), but especially St-Andrews - which is about a 25-minute drive from the cottage. Also, we went to New River Beach which is towards Saint John area, and the New River Beach is spectacular, and a very beautiful beach!

The unit was not clean smelled of pet urine. The lights didn’t work in three of the rooms. Plywood stuck under matts where the floor was rotten. Bedroom door wouldn’t close. Photos used in vrbo booking do not show the ladder that you need to access top two bedrooms. Photos also don’t show the washed out driveway to get to unit and the log stairs used for access to the beautiful beach. Broken fluorescent tube from kitchen light beside fridge. Dishwasher doesn’t work and I don’t think it has worked for a very long time as buttons are missing and it’s taped shut. Let host know about the smell.
