Noise issues

Lovely looking hotel. Quick service and good facilities. However the noise travels easily from room to room and i was kept awake by the couple next door for most of the night. His was made worse by a light flashing on the smoke detector every few seconds.

Positive with tiny buts

So... positive stay, great welcome, room (Newcastle) comfortable abit noisy as guests go to their rooms but had a decent sleep. Just have a couple of points; They take a £50 reserve charge upon arrival (I was aware before booking) don’t understand why it ‘could’ take upto 10 days to refund if applicable - because of this I don’t get how in a superior room I have wooden stirrers for hot drinks creating unnecessary waste. They give you complimentary water but it’s not in the empty fridge so it was warm & having to drink out of the black plastic beakers made it worse. Finally why can’t the quilt cover be long enough to cover the quilt? There was a big chunk tucked under the bed...I don’t get it. All that said, the room was great value for money but because of this deposit which I guess is in place in case guests pinch anything you would think proper spoons, nice clean mugs & glasses would be a given.

This was my second time to stay I stayed in the hope room this time a superior room but no fridge no bath and paint flanking off wall from damp didn’t think it was worth £200 a night

On entering the hotel we where meet by lovly and very helpful staff. The accommodation was clean and tidy. Food was very nice, well priced and good portions. One down side was the price of the Gin and lemonade was around £13 but drafts and bottles where more realistic prices. We really in joyed our 2 night stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family members.

Think before you book

it’s was one of best hotels have stayed in a long time great value for money however i was a bit let down about the extra £50 to pay this was a sort of deposit in case you steel anything or damage your room. you get this put back in bank in three working days but is money i need when working in nottingham am 64 years old not going to steel but as for staying again don’t think i would stay until thay take that £50 fee off other hotels don’t have extra charge like that and are higher star rating

Check in staff were really nice when I questioned the deposit the manager was called and was very rude. In the end he backed down after a very long conversation. He was very patronising . The paint in the room was peeling on the window frame and the window had a crack in it. In the shower was a long black hair and the shampoo and hand was were almost empty. It was a bad experience and couldn’t be bothered reporting the condition of the room to the hotel as I felt it wouldn’t have made a difference due to the managers attitude
