"Very basic two star hotel on the outskirts of town. The room was very small, but perfectly clean, with a very comfortable bed, and blissfully, air conditioned in the middle of a brutal heatwave. The breakfast spread was also pretty basic, but surprisingly quite good. The young ladies working the reception and breakfast area were lovely, professional, and very helpful with suggestions for restaurants for dinner. This was a very last minute booking over a very busy weekend, and my main gripe...

"For the price €103, it absolutely wasn't worth it. It is situated in the middle of nowhere. You have to arrange your breakfast yourself for the next morning. The only thing you get in the evening before, is a bag with bread and some marmelade. The fridge is hardly filled and you have to make your thea or coffee yourself. Besides the awfull smell in the sleepingroom it is an accomodation far beyond nowadays standards. We thought we had become in a horror movie of the worst kind."

"Came for one night, and ended up staying for three, because we never wanted to leave. This is a pure haven for anyone just wanting to relax, calm their nerves and take in the beautiful evening sky whilst hanging in a pool. With kind horses all around, and the sound of nature and wind in the trees. With only a few rooms, you never experience too much of a crowd, and only the best people seem to end up here. The owners are the sweetest people, and we’ll definitely end up coming here every...

ibis Styles Lisieux Normandie

10/10 Excellent

"The staff were helpful and courteous. Our room was spot on . Clean quiet with a really comfortable large double bed. We ate in the restaurant from an interesting and well priced menu. Finally we benefitted from a 12 noon check out. Cannot fault this Hotel at all and would stay again"

Hôtel du Lion d'or

10/10 Excellent

"We had a few problems on arrival as the road to the hotel had been temporarily closed. The lady on reception was extremely helpful and helped us to negotiate a different route. Our room was a double when we had booked a twin but that was also quickly resolved and we were given a very nice room with two double beds. The facilities in the room were perfect and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. On Sunday, there was a market directly outside the hotel, which we enjoyed wandering through. It is a lovely town in a beautiful area. The staff were so kind and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

Le Grand Hôtel de l'Espérance

10/10 Excellent

"The staff at the hotel is very kind, professional and helpful. We stayed for 5 nights and as I struggled with the bath they immediately changed our room with one which had a lovely Italian shower. Very clean and also very quiet. Good restaurant at excellent prices. Will definitely return when back in Lisieux."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Notre-Dame-De-Courson?

The best area to stay in Notre-Dame-De-Courson is within the village centre itself, particularly around the church and the main crossroads.

This small, rural village is the heart of the surrounding countryside, offering a tranquil base for exploring Normandy. The village centre is characterised by its historic church, a few traditional houses, and the quiet lanes that radiate outwards. It's a place where the pace of life is slow, and the focus is on natural beauty and local charm.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape will find the village centre ideal. It offers a chance to disconnect and enjoy the quiet surroundings, with opportunities for gentle walks along country paths directly from your accommodation. The limited number of local amenities, such as a small shop or a local eatery if available, add to its authentic, unspoiled feel.

For families, staying in a gîte or a larger rental property just outside the immediate village centre, but still within easy reach, often provides more space and privacy.

When is the best time to go to Notre-Dame-De-Courson?

The best time to visit Notre-Dame-De-Courson is during the late spring or early autumn, specifically from May to June or September to October.

These months offer pleasant weather, with comfortable temperatures ideal for exploring the Norman countryside without the peak summer crowds. You'll find the local markets bustling with fresh produce and the gardens in full bloom or displaying lovely autumnal colours.

For those who enjoy outdoor activities like cycling or walking through the orchards and fields, these periods are perfect.
