A mini break with our dog. Great location for local walks and within striking distance of the coast. Its rural location meant peace and quiet except for the birds! Spacious with very well equipped kitchen and very comfy beds! Owners were extremely welcoming and helpful. We would definitely hope to return.
Lovely converted barn in a great location to explore Norfolk
Very clean, comfy well furnished and in a great location. Excellent WIFI, comfy beds, fully stocked kitchen. Everything we could need was available. The lovely host Sandra checked in to make sure everything was satisfactory.
We had a wonderful stay at the lodge. It was fully resourced with everything we could possibly need, making it feel like a true home away from home. The Christmas decorations in the garden were absolutely lovely and added such a festive, welcoming atmosphere. The fizz, biscuits, and crackers were a really thoughtful touch and made our arrival extra special. Highly recommended — we will definitely be back.
We had a wonderful stay at this holiday cottage in Loddon. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, making it easy to settle in straight away. The location was perfect – calm and tranquil, offering a real sense of peace and relaxation, yet only a short 10-minute walk into the village.Loddon has plenty to offer, with a good selection of shops, pubs, and amenities, so it was the best of both worlds: quiet countryside charm with everything you need close by. A lovely place to stay – we would happily return.
We had a lovely stay but forgot our dogs feeding ball. Would you be able to post it back and I will reimburse the postage? We were lucky that there wasn’t another dog next door as the open fencing might have been an issue for our dog but we did know about that before we came. Thanks very much
The Shepherd’s Hut was ideal. We could walk to Loddon easily along the river, it was very close but also super quiet and relaxing. In the evenings we sat outside hearing the birds, incl a cuckoo and watched the barn owl in the field behind. I know!! :)The cottage was really clean and comfortable with everything needed for a great stay. Paul & Sandra popped by and were so friendly and lovely. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Shepherds Hut to everyone.
If you want somewhere clean tidy modern and situated very conveniently close to the broads then you will find it harder to beat. One suggestion - air con would definitely be a massive plus and ensure a peaceful sleep given rising temperatures moving forward. Otherwise 10/10.

Lovely property in an excellent location
The Shepherd's Hut is a delightful property in an peaceful spot, very close to the river in the charming market town of Loddon. I stayed there for 3 nights with my two daughters, aged 12 and 10.
Arrangements for arrival were very smooth, with the key available in a lockbox. Sandra greeted us shortly after our arrival, and was friendly and keen to help.
The property has been very well converted, to a high quality finish. There was plenty of space for us, and we had all the facilities we needed, including a well equipped kitchen. My only suggestion for improvement would be that the furniture in the living room is not very comfortable - but, then again, if you're like us you won't be spending much time inside anyway!
The location is superb. It is a very rural setting, on a working farm, but with the facilities of Loddon very close to hand. The river is very close, and good for walking
Overall, highly recommended
Really enjoyed our stay at the shepherds hut, nice roomy place , very clean , loving the free range eggs and shortbread on arrival even a pint of milk for a cuppa tea x
Was very out of the way which was lovely , we found a path to the church on the last day but least we know where it is for next time! Lovely to walk across the fields and see the cows, goats, and even a lovely horse. Children loved the fact the place had wi~Fi so they were kept amused. Great tv too was great to watch it in the evening.
The kitchen had everything you needed to make a meal was super, lovely hot shower also.
I especially loved the cordless hoover.
Would for sure stay here again even received a visit from the owner asking my hubby if everything was ok in which it was perfect.
Hopefully see you next year

The property was very well equipped and clean we enjoyed watching the owl in the field behind us
The only thing that spoilt it was the last day when we had new people move in next door with two dogs every time when someone walked by the dogs bark so we ended up not sitting in the garden because of them constantly barking and was very glad they hadn’t been there all week with us
We had a relaxed break away with our dog, Claudia. Sandra an Paul were great, including lovely touches on arrival. The lane was a source of excitement for our dog; people watching!! Great for walking and seeing the boats on the river.
Lovely compact accommodation in a good location to explore this area of Norfolk. This was our second stay, having previously stayed the other side in the Lambs Creche and it was just as nice as we remembered.
Only point for improvement would be to update the pans in the kitchen. Appreciate that people may tend to go out to eat when on holiday, but we cooked each night and felt the need to buy a pan to use as the ones provided have all seen better days.
Lovely clean, cosy property with extra touches from Sandra and Paul, like eggs, shortbread etc.
We had a lovely time exploring the area by foot and car, well worth a visit to this very friendly place
Shepherds Hut is great, very quiet, lovely views, close to the river and a pleasant and easy 10 min walk into Loddon over the fields. We stayed for 3 nights while visiting family in the village and it was perfect. Great to have the owners pop round to check everything was ok.
Only improvement suggestion would be to renew the double mattress, otherwise everything was as expected and good quality
The house was very modern and had everything we needed for our stay. Paul and Sandra were very welcoming. We enjoyed our break and would recommend the house to friends.
A nice property in a peaceful location which is ideally located for the broads and the coast. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. We would definitely return and recommend to others. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.
