The surrounding area is renowned for its unspoiled natural beauty, with Lake Huron to the west and Georgian Bay to the east, making it a true paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, nature lovers, and those seeking an escape from the everyday.

A Nature Lover’s Playground
The Northern Bruce Peninsula is home to some of the most spectacular natural attractions in Canada. Just a short drive away, explore the breathtaking Bruce Peninsula National Park, where the iconic Grotto awaits with its crystal-clear turquoise waters and dramatic cliffs. For those who love hiking, the legendary Bruce Trail, Canada’s oldest and longest marked footpath, winds through the peninsula, offering stunning views of the rugged coastline and lush forests.

For a quieter adventure, the nearby Fathom Five National Marine Park boasts incredible underwater treasures. Here, you can kayak, snorkel, or take a glass-bottom boat tour to explore shipwrecks and the mesmerizing Flowerpot Island, famous for its towering limestone sea stacks and pristine hiking trails.

Charming Towns and Coastal Living
The charming harbor village of Tobermory, just a short drive north, offers a delightful mix of maritime heritage and small-town warmth. Stroll along the marina to take in the views of the bustling harbor, where fishing boats and tour charters come and go. Tobermory is also home to quaint shops and art galleries that reflect the area’s creative spirit.

In Tobermory, you’ll find some of the finest dining on the peninsula. Indulge in freshly caught whitefish at The Fish & Chip Place or enjoy a gourmet meal paired with local craft beer at Tobermory Brewing Company & Grill. For a relaxed, lakeside dining experience, Shipwreck Lee’s serves up its famous fish fry in a cozy, nautical-inspired setting.

Outdoor Adventures
For water enthusiasts, the peninsula offers kayaking, paddleboarding, and some of the clearest waters for snorkeling and diving in Canada. The area’s rich marine heritage is celebrated with its many accessible shipwrecks and unique dive sites. On land, the peninsula transforms into a snow-draped wonderland during winter, perfect for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and peaceful winter hikes.

Unforgettable Sunsets
At Hypotenuse, you’re ideally situated to experience some of the most magnificent sunsets in the world. As the day winds down, take a seat along the property’s private shoreline or head to nearby Lion’s Head Beach, where the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of gold and crimson.

Gorgeous Cottage with Luxurious Features!

We spent 2 nights at the cottage and it was the perfect spot for our girls weekend! It was spacious, clean and had all of the necessities. The light system was very cool and the steam bath was a bonus feature! We loved the welcome gifts and it included board games and everything we needed for cooking. The master was beautiful and the views of Lake Huron from every bedroom were incredible. We can't wait to come back!

Fabulous experience at the lake

My family fell hard for Hypotenuse. We arrived in the middle of a heatwave and because of the lake breeze, the property must have been 15 degrees cooler than in Wiarton where we got our groceries. The views and outdoor spaces were unparalleled. Add to that the quality of the kitchen and the interior design and it really was a recipe for a perfect vacation. My aunt mentioned multiple times how the space feels infinitely bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. Very roomy, multiple bathrooms, and did I mention the view?!? Highly recommend, included for those with small children, pets, or limited mobility. We can't wait to come back.
