Top Nicoya Peninsula Hotel Reviews

Condovac la Costa
4/10 Poor
" Don't do it. Spend the extra money."

Hotel Riu Palace Costa Rica - All Inclusive
8/10 Good
"The staff was excellent- kind and anticipated your needs before you did! Very attentive! The specialty restaurants were fantastic! The property is huge so bring your walking game. The beach is not owned by resort and before we went we were cautioned by friends of sand fleas on the beach that can create an itchy ankle hassle while trying to sleep- bring bug spray! The weather every day was fantastic! Rooms are dated but decent and I slept like a baby! Nothing to do but enjoy and relax! "

Hotel Riu Guanacaste - All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"1st off, the hotel property was VERY CLEAN!! Theres always someone cleaning. Super good. Everything is is good working order, all the restaurants are great but we’re a buffet family so we spent most of the time there. Lol. Our room was good size, staff is very nice and friendly. Don’t have 1 negative thing to say. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. It is super FAMILY FRIENDLY and oh I forgot, there’s a water park here too. 😂😂"

Occidental Papagayo - Adults Only - All inclusive
6/10 Okay
"Upon first glance, this is a beautiful property. The grounds are well maintained and the staff couldn't have been nicer. But the food made me violently ill. Nothing I ate during my time there was outstanding (which is to be expected at an all-inclusive in this price range), but it was the seafood soup that put me over the edge. Other guests reported having similar stomach issues. Needless to say, I won't be going back. I mean, the least an international resort can do is not poison its guests, right?"

Wyndham Tamarindo
10/10 Excellent
"Ocean view, clean rooms, friendly staff, swim up bar ! "

Azura Beach Resort - All Inclusive - Adults Only
6/10 Okay
"This is definitely a resort that caters to an older and less active clientele. Other than the pool there are no "activities" to speak of on the resort, other than tennis courts that are a 1/4 - 1/2 mile walk away from the main area. They were also short on pool chairs, so if you don't get there early you might not get one.
The food was "good", but the options are very limited. Only 3 Lunch/Dinner restaurants and 1 Breakfast buffet. If you want food during the day you'll have to get it from the Pool Bar or flag someone down at the Main Bar. As for the bars, they don't open until 12pm and EVERYTHING shuts down promptly at 10pm. If you're looking for anything to do after that it had better be in town.
The rooms were nice, but the water in the shower/tub/sink never got HOT and the room never really got cool enough to sleep comfortably.
Overall, it was a very pretty resort, if not a little overpriced, and definitely for people at a slower pace."

Hotel Tamarindo Diria Beach Resort
8/10 Good
"Had to ask for supplies in our room multiple times. Bars were only open from 11-6, except at the beach side"

CC Beach Front Papagayo All Inclusive
8/10 Good
"Beautiful setting, lots of shade, right on the beach, rooms were impeccably clean and modern.
Welcome staff don’t do a great job of explaining the amenities or food offerings, but we were able to discover them ourselves or from guests who had been there a few days before us.
Zero entertainment, which suited us just fine, but our teen found it hard to keep busy. "

Bahia del Sol Beach Front Boutique Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Great location, staff was excellent, and the grounds had everything needed for a beach stay. "
