Superb hospitality!
Lix and Quintin are the consummate hosts. Le Contadour is a wonderful place to stay for a trip to the French Riviera. It's inland from the coast in Gattières, providing good access to the lovely hill villages nearby.

Amazing welcome here - we loved our stay at this property. Very relaxing, cosy, clean home. Gorgeous pool and fabulous view. Slept so well in comfortable beds and honestly didn’t want to leave. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

We had a lovely time staying in Liz and Quentin’s property. The location was brilliant with beautiful views down the valley and a wonderful pool to relax in. They were great at giving us recommendations locally of where to eat and we enjoyed drinks with them one evening, getting to enjoy the views of their property. Very generous hosts. Just what we were looking for and we’d love to come back!

Lovely property and amazing hosts.
We loved staying in Liz and Quentins apartment. It was very comfortable and cosy with incredible views. The pool and barbeque area were perfect. The location is ideal for exploring the core d'azur. Our hosts are very welcoming, friendly and a real pleasure to meet and spend some time with. One of out best holidays ever and we will definitely visit again, we cant speak more highly of the property or of the hosts.

Honeymoon in Heaven
Liz and Quentin fabulous hosts. The property was absolutely gorgeous and exceeded all our expectations. They helped make our honeymoon special, offering excellent advice, always available and were lovely people. They made us a special dinner once they knew we had gotten married, and we all became fast friends in a very short time. We will go back again and we only wish we could more convey how wonderful they are as hosts.

Lovely star with warm and friendly hosts
We had a fantastic week in and around Gattieres, staying in this beautiful apartment. Liz and Quentin are the kindest and friendliest people you could have as hosts. Around if you need help or advice, but otherwise leaving us to enjoy their beautiful property. The apartment is very quiet and has views from the balcony down to the sea in the far distance. It is really convenient for visiting places such as Monaco, Antibes, Vence, St Paul de Vence and Nice, but is also perfect for relaxing around the lovely pool area. The aircon in the living area and the large bedroom are excellent and the kitchen is short of nothing. A great stay and if we are ever in the area again we will definitely choose this apartment again.

Perfect place to relax away from the crowds
Liz and Quintin were delightful hosts and have a fabulous home. We travelled as 4 adults and a 7 month old baby and we had everything we needed in the house, including high chair for baby and a well equipped kitchen for food prep. We spent hours relaxing by the pool, which was the perfect relief from the hot temperatures in the middle of the day. The evenings were extremely relaxing drinking wine and cooking on the charcoal grill on our private terrace. The bakery in Gattieres has delicious croissants, pastries and baguettes for your daily fix. The short drive to Vence and St Paul was particularly lovely, and the beaches and restaurants of Nice were a 20 min drive away. Thanks again Quintin and Liz for the great company and sharing your home.

Wonderful hosts, great location and very high quality villa
Stayed for 1 week End July, as a family of 3 with a 13yo daughter. Villa is very well decorated with high quality soft furnishings and furnished with all the equipment and appliances you could need. The villa is well maintained and is well cared for and it shows. The pool is a good size and plenty of space to lounge around and catch the sun or sit in the shade. Liz and Quentin (the owners) are the nicest and most helpful hosts you could ask for, completely welcoming and friendly, helpful and very knowledable of the area and can assist with tips and advice to improve your stay. They will both make sure your stay is going well and are happy to either be part of your holiday or leave you to do your own thing with just enough help to get the most from your time, its a great balance. The villa is set in its own grounds and not overlooked so you have privacy, but also have great views over the valley to Nice. The gardens and grounds are well maintained. The rural setting is good to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but you are only 20mins from the city itself by car. The local village has a supermarket, fine bakers, grocers and a butchers which are good for supplies and fresh products daily. There are lots of other villages to explore by car. All in all a great place to stay in a great location with great hosts. I would really recommend this villa, we all had such a great time and were sorry to leave at the end of our holiday.

Very nice place, wonderfull stay, we enjoyed it.
Our stay was wonderfull, we had a nice view from the terrace, comfortable house, nice garden and swimming pool area. Not far to the seaside, to Nice, to the small mediaeval towns. Liz and Quentin were very friendly and helpful. Our stay was really relaxing.

Fantastic holiday.

Amazing Location
This is a lovely property with the most amazing views and perfectly situated for visiting some of the best places in the South of France, 20 minutes to Vence with it's pretty streets and romantic history, a wonderful choice of restaurants and more stunning views. Also only 20 minutes to the coast with an assortment of towns and beaches. Gattieres itself is a delightful village, it provides everything you need for self catering, the supermarket sells an excellent assortment of fresh food, good wine, plus all sorts of extras, from swimming goggles to sewing kits. There is a lovely boulangerie and two very nice restaurants. Liz and Quentin are very hospitable, we spent a wonderful evening by the pool, drinking their wine and getting some very good tips on where to go and what to see, the pool area is really lovely, with a very impressive BBQ and more stunning views. Our favourite area was the private terrace directly outside the property, with it's wonderful old olive tree, borgainvillea and pretty tubs, this made the perfect place for late breakfasts of fresh pastries from the village and coffee. In the evenings we watched the sunset with local wine and lit candles, enjoying the warm nights while eating the fresh local produce.

Loved our spontaneous Getaway at Liz & Quentin‘s beautiful house
We spontaneously decided to spend 1 week in Southern France - and the first contact with our hosts was so friendly and great, as was our welcome and stay! We loved the apartment, equipped with everything you could want - with the amazing view and the stunning garden. Liz and Quentin were such welcoming and great hosts - we can only recommend to stay with them, if you’re in the area!

A wonderful visit
A beautiful property and a cozy place from which to explore the area. We enjoyed our month spent here but the best feature was Liz and Quentin. Glorious Holiday!
Warm welcome by Liz and Quentin when we arrived with a tour round the property which is lovely. The villa has everything you need and more with beautiful views down the Var towards Nice. The pool and outside spaces are gorgeous especially the lemon and olive trees! Liz and Quentin were very discreet but there if you needed them and we enjoyed a couple of evenings at the pool bar with them! This was the perfect place to chill out, swim, read and have a G&T with a piece of freshly picked lemon - heaven! We explored the coast and the mountains - all fabulous!

Perfect in Every Way
My husband and I had a wonderful holiday in this beautiful villa, we were there for a week from 29th Oct and enjoyed warm and sunny weather all week. We chose the villa from Owners Direct website, all the information provided is exactly what you have. Our first few days were spent relaxing around the pool or on our private balcony with fantastic views and we used all the facilities in Gattieres which is only a 10 minute walk. We then explored the area, visiting some lovely places and had a fabulous day in Nice before returning home with heavy hearts and now missing everything there and struggling with the drop in temperature 20c to 6c! Liz and Quentin are perfect hosts, there to help you if needed with lots of good tips on where to visit and eat, providing all they can to give you your perfect holiday without intruding on your privacy. If you are looking to book in this beautiful area then do not hesitate to book Le Contadour, you will not be disappointed. We have enjoyed many villa holidays in Europe and would not hesitate to return to Le Contadour.

I was glad that we could advise them on some of our favourite places to visit; even when one knows an area pretty well, there are always corners which remain secret to visitors. There is such a lot to see in the Alpes Maritime and having been living here with my husband for nearly 16 years, we are still discovering interesting places nearby. We completely understand that what we have here at Le Contadour is perfectly suited to our visitors from all over the world and each and every one that visits is a real pleasure for us. Excellent location, great property, fantastic hosts!
It's very difficult to write this review without repeating everything that's already been said but here goes! Location - Gattieres is a very nice village within a 10 minute walk of the property. It has everything you need including a supermarket and boulangerie. There's also a nice restaurant called Le Manon. It's a great base for sightseeing with the likes of Nice on your doorstep or other little French villages such as Carros where's there's a great restaurant called Creperie du Moment. Property - faultless! As soon as we walked in we knew we'd chosen well. Spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need provided, including a generous supply of towels. The outside space is second to none. There are plenty of places to sit and read (or doze!) from the loungers around the glorious (spotlessly clean) pool to your own balcony looking out over the river Var and down to Nice airport. Truly a view we never tired of looking out on. Hosts - Liz and Quentin. Made us feel very welcome from the minute we arrived which is a great way to start your stay. It was great having them around to help or answers questions but they are very good at making sure you have your privacy. We certainly wouldn't hesitate in recommending this property! The only downside was we were only there for a week, a mistake we certainly won't be making next time if we are luckily enough to stay here again.

Great position and friendly hosts
The property is located I the hills above nice - about 30 min drive to the old town. Gattieres is a lovely little village with supermarket and bakery , plus a couple of nice restaurants. The host were lovely and nothing was too much hassle . The pool is fantastic and it is easy to loose yourself amongst the olive and citrus trees! I would definitely reccomend.

A tranquil sun kissed oasis within easy reach of the Cote d'Azure
"Will you pick me a lemon from the tree?" asked my wife as she prepared the salad for the barbecue we were about to have on our sun soaked terrace overlooking the Var valley. A smile lit up my face. I had never been asked to do that before. You do not get an opportunity to pluck lemons in cloudy Manchester. And yet here in Gattieres, a two hour flight away, we had a terrace with a lemon tree and a magnificent olive tree. On the Webber charcoal barbecue we cooked tender steaks from the local supermarket, a short walk away. We have always loved France, and here at Liz's attractive villa, it was at its magnificent best. The house boasts a wonderful warm pool surrounded by sun loungers, and umbrellas. The accommodation is very comfortable with everything you need to prepare a meal.If you want to lounge in the sun for a week a two, you could stay for the entire time in the property, but we love to explore. And what a region to explore. The bustling port city of Nice with its beautiful Belle Epoque buildings, museums, and galleries is a short distance away as are the coastal resorts of Antibes and Theole sur Mer with their sandy beaches and lovely warm Mediterranean swimming. The Grande Corniche and the beautiful village of Eze offered views right along the coast from across the border in Italy to St Tropez. On a really clear day I am told you can see Corsica nearly 100 miles away.We ventured across the border to the grand Italian coastal resort of San Remo. We were lucky to stay in Gattieres when the village hosted its annual opera festival with a wonderful production of the Barber of Seville. Held in the open air at the top of the village by the church, the entertainment was outstanding with faultless singing, accompanied by a wonderful orchestra. At the interval you could grab a glass of champagne and a slice of pizza. The village celebrated Bastille day the previous night with dancing in the village square to a disco.We danced a little and drank a lot of pichets of rose. What a night. Liz and Quentin, who live in the adjoining house were magnificent hosts - unobtrusive, but there when needed. Vive les Murphys, Vive La France

Geweldige tijd
Lieve Liz en Quinten, Dank jullie voor de zeer vriendelijke ontvangst ook al waren we 3 uur te vroeg. Jullie huis is prachtig en werkelijk alles is aanwezig dus als gast ontbreekt het je aan niets. Tijdens onze laatste borrel vroeg je ons of wij nog iets willen toevoegen aan de inventaris maar we zouden het echt niet weten want echt alles is aanwezig. Jullie gastvrijheid is enorm en jullie vriendelijkheid en interesse in de gasten is hartverwarmend. We hebben genoten van onze gezellige borrels op jullie terras en de vele verhalen die ons de hele wereld overnamen. De omgeving was bekend bij ons echter de Côte d’Azur beneemt ons iedere keer weer de adem. Monaco, Menton, Ventimiglia, San Remo, Antibes, Juan les Pins, Nice, St. Paul en Vence liggen allen binnen bereik en zijn makkelijk te bereiken met de auto. Er is zo veel te zien dat je je als toerist hier niet hoeft te vervelen. Als we toch een kleine tip mogen geven dan zouden wij adviseren om een lamp op het balkon te maken zodat je buiten kunt zitten en bijvoorbeeld een spelletje kunt doen. Wij hebben het zij-terras eigenlijk niet gebruikt want we vonden het uitzicht vanaf het balkon zo prachtig. Dank jullie voor de heerlijke weken in Le Contadour. Amazing stay!
Fantastisch. Een adembenemend uitzicht vanaf dat je opstaat tot wanneer het donker is en de lichtjes van Nice allemaal branden. Het huis heeft alles wat je nodig hebt. De attentie van de gastheren en de gastheren zelf geven je een hartverwarmend welkom bij aankomst! Quinten en Liz zijn beiden super vriendelijk en heel behulpzaam. Ze geven je een warm thuis gevoel! Ideale basis tussen Nice en Monaco, dus genoeg te bezoeken voor jong en oud. Als het ons lukt, komen wij graag terug volgend jaar!

Fijn verblijf net buiten Nice
Vakantiewoning is prachtig gelegen, net buiten de drukte van Nice. De kinderen, en wij zelf ook, hebben ons prima vermaakt in de omgeving maar zeker ook an de rust van het zwembad. Aan faciliteiten geen gebrek en de vriendelijke eigenaren Quinten en Liz mogen zeker ook niet onvermeld blijven. Zeker een aanrader!

Het ontvangst en de communicatie was voortreffelijk. De locatie is prachtig. De winkels, bakker en slager op loop afstand 15 min als ook een kleine supermarkt. en goede pizzeria—het huis is voor 4 personen zeer geschikt. diverse terrasjes op verschillende niveaus en mooi en schoon zwembad. met badhandoeken op de strandbedden. Het huis is netjes en voorzien van alle zaken die je mag verwachten. incl airco. Er zat nog een verassing in de koelkast en vers fruit op tafel bij aankomst. Wij zouden wel weer naar dezelfde locatie willen. de eigenaar geeft je het gevoel van prive terwijl evt hulp dichtbij is.

Un énorme merci à Liz et Quentin pour ce petit coin de paradis, pour toutes leurs attentions et leur accueil, tout aussi chaleureux que discret. wonderful stay with wonderful hosts
Only 20 minutes away from nice and the airport we had a wonderful time at Le Contadour with very nice hosts! A very special place to stay in the mountains behind nice. The apartment was perfectly equipped, especially in the kitchen everything was available what you needed. The pool could be used by our boys even at the end of october and we had breakfast under an old olive tree with spectacular view of Nice and the Mediterranean Sea! Thank you so much Liz and Quentin, I can not remember having had such lovely, sympathetic hosts!

Ruhig gelegen am Rand des kleinen Städtchens Gattieres ist dieses hübsche und gepflegte Appartment gelegen. Das untere Stockwerk der am Hang gebauten Villa bietet alles was man benötigt und noch mehr. Von Geschirrspüler über Waschmaschine bis zu Strandschirmen ist an alles gedacht. Ob beim planschen im hauseigenem Pool, dem Barbecue auf der privaten Terasse im Schatten des Olivenbaums oder dem abendlichen Genuss der wunderbaren Aussicht vom eigenen Balkon bis zum Meer ist immer etwas zu genießen. Die Nähe zu Nizza, Cannes, Monaco oder auch den vielen malerischen Städtchen in der Nähe lassen die Zeit voller Erlebnisse schnell vergehen. Abgerundet wird das Erlebnis durch das immer freundliche, unaufdringliche und stets hilfsbereite Paar, das im oberen Stock des Hauses wohnt. Zusammengefasst eine sehr angenehme und empfehlenswerte Unterkunft.

Séjour au calme
Les propriétaires Liz et Quentin sont charmants et très accueillants tout en restant très discrets. Le logement est cosy et rien ne manque. Petit point négatif : la seconde chambre ne convient pas vraiment pour des adultes. Il faut tenir compte que la voiture est y indispensable.

Nice location, excellent view!
Nice and cosy house, with a splendid view over the Var- valley and the Mediterranian see. Very comfortable beds an a big and lovely bathroom. The hosts, Liz and Quentin are very friendly and helpfull. The pool area seems very nice, even though we didn’t use it in March! A few negative things: The kitchen seems to need a little opgrading, as f.ex. one or two sharp knives and proper lightning to see, what you are cooking! The internet is working ok, but seems to disappear every night around 19-20 o’clock? It happened for us all 7 nights. It is close to impossible to park your car legally in the Village of Gattieres ,when you are going to the local supermarket or restaurants. We recommend to go to the supermarket in St.Jeannet, wich has its own parking lot. But all in all a nice stay in a lovely house with very friendly hosts.

Hello Susanne Thank you so much for going to the trouble of writing a review of your time spent at Le Contadour in Gattieres. I read with interest your comments and have duly noted your suggestions regarding a few inconveniences. We will certainly check out the kitchen equipment and replace the knives. I can understand your frustration if things are not perfect. Although we have several spotlights in the kitchen, it appears that one could use more. I will check it out. The wifi in the apartment has a router installed to give extra signal force both indoors and outside. It is a bit of a mystery why the signal should disappear at night. We use the same system in our part of the villa and it works well! I will of course check it out. Thanks for letting me know. beautiful and lovey place with very kind hosts
Liz and Quentin own a beatiful place with a nice mediterranean house which is perfect to relax. They both are some lovely hosts that care about your wishes and are very interested in their guests. As a guest you have your own privacy area with a nice terraceand olive trees everywhere. If it getting hot you can take a bath in the pool which is very clean and never too cold.It takes you just 2 minutes to reach the next supermarket by car, Nice is just 20-30 minutes away. We enjoyed our stay at le contadour very much and we have to recommend it to anyone who wants to visit côte d'azur. Its more than an apartment - it like a house with your own big garden, swimming pool and a lot of different fruit trees. We wish all the best to Liz and Quentin.
