"This was our second time staying here, the home is in an excellent location to enjoy biking the Root River Trail or enjoying kayaking, canoeing, or tubing on the Root River. Plenty of choices for food and drinks in the evening."

"We really enjoyed our stay in the Proprietor’s Suite (which is a 1 bedroom house from 1929). Nicely appointed and very clean. However, the bedding was frankly horrible. Synthetic materials and even plastic covered pillows. Very low cheap quality for what otherwise was a lovely place."

"Overall we liked our stay. However, on our way home, we noticed a one night, charge, on our credit card account from the motel. The phone call back to the motel resulted in a verbal disagreement as to why this charge occurred. The manager would be available the next day but until then we were upset with this improper charge. The next day the charge was cancelled by a matched credit. Unfortunately this situation, although solved, was a dark stain on our visit."

The Hen House Retreat - A Comfortable Place to Roost

"The four of us really enjoyed the hen house. We didn’t get an opportunity to use the fire pit outside, but it looked so inviting. We loved the chicken and rooster decorations- some of them really make us laugh! We even saw the neighbors’ chickens wandering in the area! I loved perusing through several quilting magazines. The house had so many thoughtful additions, such as boxes of tissues, ear plugs, night stands, and chocolates near the bed. The only addition I could think of was possibly a little mirror in the bedrooms so us women could do our hair and makeup while the bathroom is in use. Note the 3 bedrooms are upstairs, which was fine for us “young seniors”. The kitchen had everything we needed, even a toaster, which I haven’t found in our last 2 rentals."

"Very comfortable for our family of four. We ate out a lot, but the kitchen was perfect for cooking if we wanted. Comfortable beds and family room. We really enjoyed our time in Preston!"
