Root River Valley Cabin ~ Lanesboro, MN

  • The log cabin, built in 2012 by the Amish, is located on the Root River Trail. The trail is great for biking, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, rollerblading, and walking. The cabin is 2.25 miles from Lanesboro via the trail. To access the trail, you just need to hop on your bike and ride down the road around the farmhouse.

    The cabin is located on Hwy 250 3.75 miles by car north of Lanesboro with scenic bluff views. It is fully-furnished including two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other with a queen bed. There also is a futon and bunk beds.

    This is a complete house with everything you need, except food. Enjoy the scenic bluff views while sitting out on the covered porch with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. There is plenty of room to bring family or friends or just a loved one to enjoy a romantic get away.

Great, quiet spot in a nice location

We really enjoyed our stay. It was spacious, comfortable, cozy, and quiet. We loved the proximity to the trail, too. The only thing we were surprised about was that there weren’t any window treatments in the bedrooms.

Beautiful place and great town

We stayed here with a group for a girls weekend . We did lots of fun things like kayaking and biking. The cabin we stayed at was beautiful and fit the location perfectly would definitely stay here again.

Great Biking Location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of room for the five of us. While we knew it was close to the trail; the access was a nice surprise. The covered porch was a great spot to relax.

The cabin was a delight - spacious, clean, cozily appointed and plenty of room. The location was great and the surrounding towns and countryside provided plenty of opportunity for fun exploration. We hated to leave, but will be back!
