"Amazing location, close enough to Mallacoota for conveniences, far enough to feel like a lovely peaceful escape. I have never seen so many different birds in one place, Lyrebirds and a friendly possum were the best! So many good books to read. Would definitely stay again!"

"Located in the centre of Mallacoota, a small town at a river mouth in Eastern Victoria. Actually it feels like a large caravan park, with a central shopping precinct including the hotel/motel. The hotel has a bistro, and there is a Chinese restaurant across the road. Included in the motel was a complementary breakfast box of cereal, milk, fruit juice and muesli bar, enough to get you started the first day, in addition to the usual tea, coffee, etc. Onsite parking. It's an older building, but room was clean and fresh. Staff were helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay. Interesting history in the area if you visit the WW2 communication bunker near the local airfield."

"While the place on the surface looks nice, the Captains Cottage was situated near service entrance which made early mornings noisy with trucks and drop offs and also near the bins. In addition the wifi was pretty much non existence and staff was not very helpful when we brought it up. Finally the place was a little damp - smelling a little mouldy especially near the kitchen/fridge area."

"Overall a nice stay. The house is basic but was all we needed. Two of the queen beds were too hard to be slept in and people opted for floor instead. The upstairs shower had amazing water pressure. But as other guests have noted the upstairs kitchen was not able to be used. There was no hand soap, laundry detergent, dishwasher pods etc, however we contacted them and they were happy enough to drop them off. "

"Great spot for seeing wildlife out the window. We saw 2 kangaroos and a black snake. The rooms aren’t very sound proofed so we could hear those in the room next to us showering and listening to music which is a shame as it’s so peaceful in the surrounding area. "

"We had a great stay, house was perfect for the three of us and one little dog.It had everything we needed,bedrooms were perfect and the bed was very comfortable.We did have a problem in the kitchen with ants but we managed to fix this.Overall a relaxing break "
