We had a lovely cozy winter stay at Lobbs Cottage in a charming and friendly village on the North Coast of Cornwall. The cottage has everything you need as a base to explore Cornwall, and is great to come back to at the end of the day and recover from the Atlantic breeze. The Falcon Inn at St Mawgan is a traditional village pub within walking distance, which does great food and drink. We love returning to this part of the world and can't wait to come back and stay again.

Welll equipped and an excellent comfortable base
Lobbs cottage was well equipped. spacious, and comfortable. Beds were good and the large sofa was so comfortable that my wife wants me to buy the same one.
Location was quiet, but main roads were still easy to get to.
Would normally be a pleasant off-road walk to the beach and coast path, but a bit tricky/muddy when we were there due to the recent heavy rains.
Local pub (Falcon Inn) was welcoming and served good food.
Welcome pack much appreciated, thanks.

An ideal location for a winter stay
We had a very relaxing week's stay at Lobbs Cottage in St Mawgan, enjoying the Cornish Coastline. The cottage is well equipped and in an excellent location, in a charming village with a friendly local pub. The property is light and airy, whilst at the same time being very cosy and somewhere you want to come back to after enjoying the elements on the beaches. We would have no hesitation in recommending Lobbs Cottage and hope to book again soon.

Beautiful dog friendly cottage in St Mawgan
We were looking for a dog friendly cottage for a family of 4 in Cornwall so a large search area!
We settled on Lobbs Cottage due to the village and location between Newquay and Padstow, and were delighted we chose the village, we went to the tearoom twice, visited the Japanese garden and loved early evening drinks in the pub. We walked to the beach twice from the cottage (55 mins) and also booked the outdoor sauna at the park which my teenager loved.
The cottage was finished to a high standard and I loved the Atlantic blankets (in fact I ordered 2 on my return!), we used the bbq twice and liked eating in the dining area.
The only negative was the door to the garden was through the children’s bedroom, but this was just a quirk of the house.
We spent a lot of time in the enclosed garden which was great for the kids and dog. The garden is in the shade after 5, which I thought was a shame but my Scottish husband didn’t mind this at all!
We would definitely return and had surfing lessons at watergate bay, we loved the day trips to Padstow and st Ives, and after visiting these buzzy locations it was lovely to return to the peace and quiet of St Mawgan and Lobbs Cottage.
Fab stay, I encourage you to stop looking and book this cottage!

A really enjoyable break
We wanted a base so that we could visit various places in Cornwall and this was a great location. To be perfectly honest I don't think the images of the cottage did it justice and what you actually see in the promotional images and Google maps, and what you actually get are two different stories. This is a lovely nice sized cottage with all the you need. Sky TV, broadband and a well equipped kitchen. For those with dogs the garden is a decent size and completely secure.
As with most places in Cornwall the roads are a bit tight but to be expected. The walk the beach is absolutely beautiful especially the halfway house tea and coffee.
And very friendly locals and I made the most of using it while I was there. Definitely recommended.
