Staff was very nice. Had a good chat with the person checking me in around 6pm on Wednesday. Kitchen is fine. Don't have oven though. Ensuite bathroom is good.

Loved our stay - stayed in a private room with my partner. The location is AMAZING so close to the beach and was able to walk to all the restaurants and bars. We even had an ocean view! Staff were very lovely too!

I had a private room. It was very quiet, had a fan and lovely view. Location is close to the beach and park with a quick walk to city centre. It’s a grand old building with lots of charm and very comfy bed. Dream sleep. Bathrooms clean.

Great location 5min from the beach, the building is definitely older, the rooms are quite stuffy (mine had no a/c) and my window was broken. Bathroom was clean and the staff I encountered friendly. Was hoping for a few more activities.

The location is excellent. It's close by to the light rail station and bus stop. It's also close to the beach! Plenty of dining option nearby. The facilities are also great. I especially like the lounge area. Most importantly, I feel safe staying there as a solo female traveller. Feedback: The pillow case and the blanket in my single room has stains on them.

I had a single room and shared ablution, so half asleep left room for a toilet break, without my key pass??? Next 7 hours was fun in the lobby. Thankful for a fire to keep me warm and a spare doona, pillow given to me from a tenant or guest. One for the memory bank ;0)

If you like modern and flashy, this is not for you. It's a beautiful old building a stone's throw from the stunning Newcastle beach. Had a double room with fan & TV, even a view of the sea! Perfect for my needs. Will be back :)

There was one lady staff who were so kind. Due to my knee injuries, she helped me look for a bottom bed bunk herself and found me the best shared room. Thank you so much indeed. I am still very grateful till this day. The areas around this YHA were really nice - refreshing and relaxing. I'm wishing to visit there again.

It was a great location, nice facilities and an easy time. We did have a car and it is paid parking all around the area is 2 hours between 9am - 6pm Mon-Friday. Nobby's and Mereweather Beach offer 4 hours free parking and I am sure there will be other locations to find around the area. Didn't affect our experience
