Overall good experience
Based on the reviews I read, I was actually impressed after I got there. It was better than expected. I had a booking snafu that was my fault and was unable to get a hotel closer to the event I was in town to attend because they were all sold out. This was one of the few hotels available for the night I needed. I would never pay the rate I had to pay if I hadn't been pressed for a room on short notice. However, I would stay there again with a more economical rate. While it was not extremely convenient in location to where I needed to be on public transportation, given enough time to travel to and fro and with planning, it was not horrible. It was about 5-7 blocks from the subway line I needed. It's a block from the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (above ground expressway), so if the sound of cars whooshing by all day and night is an issue, this may not be the place to stay. Was not a problem for me. The rooms were clean, comfortable. Some upkeep is needed (carpet slightly soiled, doors need paint). It's a decent place to stay if you will not be in the room all day. I was there for one overnight--didn't spend much time in the room. The room was clean, and it's a good place to shower and bunk for the night. I didn't use WiFi, so I can't speak on the service. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is very limited (no lot)--but was not an issue for me because I was on public transportation.

I would recommend Sleep Inn Brooklyn
The hotel was easy to find eventhough it was tucked away in a residetial neighborhood. The staff was extremely helpful and there was constantly cleaning by the staff to maintain the hotel. The only downside is that the air conditioner didn't work properly but I was able to get it to work after repeated attempts. I was promised a view of the Statue Of Liberty but it was blocked by the hotel itself but there was still a nice view of Manhatten. Hotel is a nice leisure 7 block stroll to the N & R train

We had to book this as we were visiting a sick relative at the nearby hospital so it was purely on location we had to use this hotel. The hotel is set back from a noisy freeway and amongst a industrial neighbourhood.

Parking was an issue, the room smelled, breakfast was not good. For the amount paid one can find a better place to sleep.

A little tlc from owner
Owner could try to smile and be a little more hospitable when his guests check in at the front desk. After all we are there and keeping his hotel going. He acted like he was doing us a favor.

view of the statue of liberty!!!!!
I found the room through hotels.com and didn't realize that it had a view of the statue of liberty! so after a really bad day I got an amazing room with an incredible view everyone was friendly but the breakfast area is really small

Affordable stay in Brooklyn
Using the term affordable loosely, but I suppose it's relative given the hotel prices in the area. Room was clean and comfortable. Front desk was helpful and accommodating. Good location in that it's a 5-10min walk to the subway, but the immediate area isn't very nice. Only complaint is the cleaning staff are kind of noisy some mornings, talking/joking out loud in the hallways, not very considerate for those still sleeping.

disappointment
we stayed in better hotels. no information at front desk to help to decide on doing tours etc since it was our first time in the city. too far away from cruise port. also cabbie didnt know his way there and got lost. Charged us for this. $145.00 for a 15 minute ride really crazy. very disappointed . no i would not stay there again.

Room is a bit small
Rooms are too small. They are pretty understanding about early check in. The only problem i had was that the room was too small. There was hardly any space left after they had put in the bed. The other thing i want to bring to the notice of the management is that when i was trying to sleep in the afternoon the cleaning staff was cleaning the Opposite room and they were shouting instead of cleaning the room they did reduce there voice after i informed them saying i am getting disturbed but they did not stop speaking to each other while standing at the door.

The room was nice even though the thermostat was not working. We could not see the numbers so it was hard to adjust the room temperature. The breakfast area is small snd tight. The young lady adding items was rude and seemed frazzled by the number of people in the area. Overall, it was a decent stay though.

It was great, but in the past i used to get a microwave in my room, but now for the last three times i visited that i had to eat my food as it is. No microwave service in the room anyone. Otherwise everything is fine.

Compact, convenient
Happy to find this compact hotel with parking only 20 blocks from family we were visiting. Bonus was proximity to the water. Surprise was how clean it was. For the low price, I expected less. We will stay again.

I wish I'd paid attention to the reviews
While the pictures on this hotel's page are "accurate" they are deceiving. This hotel is the only building for at least a three block radius that was LIT when we arrived in the evening. It is in what appears to be a deserted industrial part of Brooklyn. The King room we were assigned was just big enough for the bed -- and we had our adult daughter with us. No roll away beds were available and she had to sleep on the floor. Needless to say, we did not stay a second night.

Decent Hotel, and clean
Given the low cost of the hotel, luxury isn't going to be part of the experience. However, it was quite comfortable, and CLEAN. The staff was friendly, and parking is easy. The breakfast is very basic, but why are you eating at a hotel? There are a zillion great places for breakfast in NY. The breakfast will do if your in a hurry. Nice view of the new world trade center from our room. I've stayed at both Brooklyn Sleep Inn's and both are good hotels. We go to Brooklyn several times a year and these are my go to hotels.

The rooms are just about OK. Small but clean. But the area where its located is way too far from any other good place in NY. Traveling from there could be a pain.

The only negative thing I found negative was the noise from the two flags just outside our window. They were very annoying all night even more so as it was very windy. I suggest they be taken down overnight for the consideration of the guests.

In the middle of nowhere.
It's seems like a new hotel, it was very neat. Location was a bit sketchy, was not comfortable walking around after dark and there's no where close by to grab something to eat. While it says it has parking, it is limited to about 15 spots, I was fortunate I got one of those spots for the 2 nights I was there.

Close to relatives
We chose the hotel because it is close to relatives. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. There was never a problem parking in the lot provided. If you're driving it's very convenient. Right off 278. The R stop for the subway is withing walking distance. The neighborhood is OK.

Dirty and Smell
Visiting friends in Brooklyn and wanted to stay nearby. The room is very dirt and the smell of the smoke through out the hotel hallway. There is a strange smell odor in our room(418) This hotel still using 80's credit processing system. The hotel clerks will make a copy of your driver license and credit card (front and back)BE WARNED!! There are two Sleep Inn's within 1mile of each other. The one on 22nd is a better location, not as seedy, but 45th was horrible.

As you mention about the room been dirty and smell of smoke in hallway.we do understand your concern about smoke but we have no clue about where smoke come from we try to tell all guest about the smoking zone in the hotel. My stay was not bad except for the surrounding area where hotel is located, kinda made me feel not too safe especially at nite.. Staff all one ethnicity, cordial but hard to understand however.. All and all room was clean tidy but a little too small for the bed..

A night in the City
The hotel was in a pretty good location, about 3 miles away from the Barclays Center where we were to see a concert. The attendant at the front desk did call a taxi for us, but overall he was difficult to work with and acted pretty clueless. He could not refer us to anywhere for food or parking. Speaking on behalf of everyone not from New York, it is a lot to take in and some help is obviously appreciated and expected if they would like returning customers.
