My husband and I stayed here for our 45th wedding anniversary.. This cute little cabin is just more than cute. You get to see a piece of Texas History while staying in a little cabin that has all the modern ammenities that you would ever need. We arrived and the cabin and grounds are absolutely beautiful. The cabin was very clean. There are rolling hills, two creeks, ponds, and a lake on the property. Fishing was awesome. The pond by the Cabin on the Hill was a winner. Line in ------ fish out. It was so much fun. The bed was firm but very comfortable. Linens were amazing. We spent most of our time on the front porch rocking in the red rocking chairs. So relaxing!! Listening to all the birds singing, watching a flock of sandhill cranes and a flock of geese flying over was so cool. We were able to hear the creek running from the porch of the cabin. My husband has back issues and has trouble walking. He was able to manuver the stairs but getting in and out of the claw foot tub was hard. We loved our stay at the Cabin on the Hill but would probably opt for the Hinze cabin, that has a shower instead, if we are able to go back. I hope we can go back again. Mary your property is amazing and we had a wonderful weekend. Thank you for providing the book with the history and all info that we needed. It was very helpful. After reading your book with the history, I wonder if maybe some of my Czech relatives could have settled in the area around Star Hill Farms.
