As former residents of New Orleans we are familiar with the work that goes into maintaining a historic property. This one is beautiful and well maintained. Would highly recommend. Also very clean with good beds.

Nice clean house in nice neighborhood

We really enjoyed our stay. This is a downstairs unit in a duplex that is well taken care of. The neighborhood is quite but has a few nice restaurants and a good grocery story a few blocks away. It is an easy uber ride to the more touristy areas of town and a right next to the fairgrounds.

We came down for a Super Bowl weekend, there was four of us. One king bed and two queens. House was super clean, easy to get into. It looked just like it did online. House manager was very attentive. We needed a late checkout and that was no problem.

Family Vacation New Orleans Sept 2023

Our family of 4 (grown children) stayed for about a week in Sept 2023. We had a great time and the place was perfect for us. Owners were attentive in a small matter and it was a short drive to French Quarter and other areas we visited. Neighborhood was nice and we waked the area a few mornings. Also had room for us to play games in the dining room or relax in the living room when we were not out enjoying New Orleans. Great stay!

The accommodations were excellent. Comfortable beds with excellent linens. Plush blankets available for extra warmth. Full dressers/ armoires so you can empty your suitcase. Living room furniture generously with leather chairs and sofa. Very well-appointed kitchen with all utensils and dishes you might want. Bathroom loaded with towels. It has been stylishly updated in black and white tiles. The location is perfect. You can walk to numerous restaurants and great grocery store. It is a stone's throw from the Fairgrounds so it is ideal for Jazz Fest. I could not have chosen a better place to stay. And I would have loved to stay a lot longer.

Love the Neighborhood

This was the first time I used vrbo and was very pleased with the whole process. Total costs and fees were shown upfront. The house was very clean and comfortable. Most important, the beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of excellent towels. I got immediate assistance when I had trouble getting the door open when I arrived. My two sisters and I loved being able to walk to City Park, restaurants and especially loved Swirl, the neighborhood wine shop. A short drive to many other activities the city offers.

Good, although a couple of niggles

Generally a good stay as per the ratings and a good location. The air conditioning unit is outside one of the rear bedrooms and shared with the upstairs apartment. This is noisy and, if the residents upstairs switch it on at night, it's not good for sleeping in the rear rooms. It can also be a bit noisy having upstairs residents generally and we'd look to avoid this in future bookings. Initial access using the key code lock was not problematic, but we did subsequently lock ourselves out twice and had to contact the owner for help to override what we discovered was a separate deadlock we'd inadvertently set when locking ourselves in at night and not realising it had to be checked and reset if needs before leaving - an update to the instructions would help in this respect.

Some recommendations

I appreciate the owner was very responsive and accommodating. The neighborhood is quiet and we were able to find street parking daily with no issues. The rooms were all spacious and the property in general is clean although I recommend the owner opt to change the old white king bed linens of the master bedroom out for a new set entirely as you can see saliva stains, sheets have yellowed due to bleach use. Dark sheet linen colors such as gray or taupe make a big difference. I also recommend putting up blinds on the kitchen door window as this faces directly to the neighbors house window and also to the only bathroom in this home. Privacy is essential. On the bathroom note it seems having another bathroom- even a half bath would be more appropriate for a 3 bedroom house, its not fun waiting for a bathroom for a family of 4. The owner should make a point of doing a final inspection of the home to check floors (also behind dressers and under beds) for any dead roaches due to fumigation as this is absolutely not appropriate for guest to see. Finally please consider placing better outdoor lighting at the front door entrance of the property in consideration for your guests who come back in the evening, especially since the door has a code door lock which does not light up when entering code and a physical key for this entrance is not provided. It also seems the door itself should be replaced, safety is always priority. One more recommendation is having a small stackable washer and dryer inside the unit rather than outside would be so much more convenient.
